A pastor who was arrested and accused of sexually abusing a minor has killed himself just days after being released on bond.
David Rogers, 40, was the Worship Pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Owensboro, KY, though he previously served as the “Music & Children Pastor.”
Last week he was arrested and charged with sexually abusing a juvenile, resulting in the church shutting down their social media and posting a statement on their website.

Spectrum News reports:
Rodgers was arrested Monday by KSP on felony charges including third-degree rape, second-degree sodomy in a position of authority, first-degree sexual abuse, procuring or promoting the use of a minor by electronic means, and possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under 12.
Authorities said the alleged abuse began about a decade ago when the victim was around 12 or 13 and met Rodgers through activities at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Owensboro, where he served as worship pastor since 2008. According to the arrest record, Rodgers confessed to the offenses during a post-Miranda interview.
After appearing in court, he posted a $75,000 cash bond and agreed not to have any contact with minors or access to electronic devices.
He was found in the yard of home days later of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators says they suspect no foul play.
Please keep his church and family in your prayers.
