New Poll Show Churchgoers Are Caving To The Devil At An Alarming Rate

The Family Research Council (FRC), in collaboration with the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, surveyed over 1,000 monthly churchgoers on their views about marriage, family, and related moral issues, and the results are dispiriting, showing a sharp dip from even two years before. Key findings include:

• Marriage and Family: 68% support marriage as a union between one man and one woman, but only 46% define ‘family’ as a husband, wife, their children, and relatives united by God’s design.
  
  Commenting on the incongruity, The Dissenter explains: “That means nearly one in four churchgoers espouse a biblical view of marriage without bothering to connect it to biblical family structure. It’s like people believe in gravity but deny it pulls things downward.”
  
• Moral Clarity of the Bible:
  • 51% say the Bible is clear and decisive on the morality of abortion.
  • 40% say the same about transgenderism.
  • On homosexuality, 47% in 2025 believe the Bible is clear and decisive, compared to 63% in 2023, marking a 16% decline.

• Support for Israel:
  • 84% consider consistent prayer for Israel very or somewhat important.
  • 74% value personal verbal support for Israel.
  • 73% believe Christians should urge U.S. government support for Israel.
• Other Views:
  • 79% agree there are only two genders.
  • 32% prefer socialism over capitalism.
  • 43% say euthanasia is morally wrong.
  • 70% believe society should support families with a father, mother, and children living together.
• Abortion:
  • 73% expressed contradictory views across six abortion-related measures.
  • 19% of churchgoers have paid for, encouraged, or chosen an abortion.
  • 43% identify as pro-life (down from 63% in 2023), while 35% identify as pro-choice (up from 22%). 7% are unsure.
  • Specific views on abortion:
    • 26% say it is never acceptable.
    • 19% believe it is acceptable only to save the mother’s life.
    • 12% accept it if the child will have significant physical or mental challenges.
    • 9% say the Bible leaves the decision to the couple.
    • 4% believe abortion is acceptable under any circumstances.

The one comfort is that this survey is among all churchgoers, which includes everyone from nominal Catholics to Lutheran churches where half the women are lesbians and the other half are progressive octogenarians.
