Six months after NYT bestselling author and cultural commentator Megan Basham announced on X that she had been diagnosed with ‘stage three, advanced colorectal cancer,’ she shared the welcome news that, following months of grueling treatment, “my scans came back all clear-no evidence of cancer.”

Basham, known for her reporting at The Daily Wire and her book ‘Shepherds for Sale: How Evangelical Leaders Traded the Truth for a Leftist Agenda,’ shared that she was diagnosed with cancer shortly after Thanksgiving in 2024.
The five-year survival rate for stage 3 colorectal cancer is between 66-74%, depending on multiple factors, with a stage 4 progression dropping the survival rate precipitously to 11-13%
Basham underwent months of chemo and radiation, including neoadjuvant therapy, whose goal is ‘total response’, meaning that it ‘obliterates the cancer before we even get to the surgery stage so that surgery might not be needed.’
And now, the cancer is clear from her body.
Praise the Lord!
