Kenneth Copeland’s annual Southwest Believers Convention recently concluded, featuring the usual lineup of ultra-wealthy prosperity gospel preachers, including Copeland himself, Jesse Duplantis, Creflo Dollar, Keith Moore, Bill Winston, and Benny Hinn, along with others like Jonathan Shuttlesworth and Bethel Church’s Bill Johnson.
One surprising addition, not widely advertised, was the inclusion of the Gaither Vocal Band, who performed a concert on Friday night.
The Gaither Vocal Band is a well-known Southern gospel group formed by Bill Gaither in the early 1980s. Releasing dozens of albums over the decades and winning two Grammys and 17 Dove Awards, they rose to prominence after featuring in their popular Gaither Homecoming videos. The band has had a rotating cast of musicians for years, with the constant presence being Gaither himself, who is 89 years old.
Bill Gaither, who previously performed at the SWBC in 2023, praised Kenneth Copeland visibly and expressed his deep love and affection for him before inviting Copeland to sing a song together on stage.
