‘I Have No Fear’ Christian Rock Star Announces He Has Stage 4 Kidney Cancer

Brad Arnold, frontman of the rock band 3 Doors Down, revealed on Instagram that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma, a form of kidney cancer that has spread to his lung. The cancer has a five-year survival rate of roughly 10% when metastatic, per the National Cancer Institute.
Explaining that “I’ve got some not so good news today,” Arnold, broke the news to his fans and friends:
Arnold is a professing Christian that routinely shares scripture and testimony on his Instagram page:

Arnold has previously testified that he has leaned on his faith throughout his life, notably during his successful battle against alcohol addiction in 2016. He expressed unshakable hope in the face of this diagnosis, stating:
“We serve a mighty God and He can overcome anything. So I have no fear, I really, sincerely am not scared of it at all.”
The diagnosis has led to the cancellation of 3 Doors Down’s planned summer tour, which was scheduled to kick off on May 15 in Daytona Beach, Florida, featuring shows with bands like Creed and Nickelback.
Adding that he would love for folks to “lift me up in prayer every chance you get,” he likewise invoked the band’s 2008 song, “It’s Not My Time,” as his rallying cry on the post caption, adding “This’ll be a battle, so we need our prayer warriors.”
