Sevendust Guitarist Clint Lowery Says He’s Become a Christian

Sevendust Guitarist Clint Lowery has revealed that he’s become a Christian, sharing on Instagram that he just completed a five-week tour, which is the first he’s done as a believer, and that “I am still building my relationship with Christ. I’m still a sinner, flawed and broken. BUT….. I’ve been able to see the world through a biblical lens.”
Formed in 1994, Sevendust has gone on to find great success, releasing 14 albums, being nominated for a Grammy, and selling millions of records. In a recent post on social media, Lowery revealed:
Last day of the tour. There’s so much I could say and probably will do another post to give some more details of the journey. For now I’ll say…I’ve never done a tour as a saved Christian.
I am still building my relationship with Christ. I’m still a sinner, flawed and broken. BUT…..I’ve been able to see the world through a biblical lens. My band of brothers, our crew, the people who have come to the shows. It’s been the most profound and spiritual tour I’ve done in my career. Free of resentments, free of judgement of others, less me and more them. Less self will and more of Gods will.
I’ve stared at these [bracelets] every day multiple times a day. Reminders when I sink into the darkness of my thoughts and fears. I’m so thankful to be alive today, to be faithful to my creator. Waiting for my family to arrive for our last show of this unbelievable tour I did not know I would be able to do but God made the way. I know he did. I never want to boast, or stand on a soapbox, I’m simply stating what has helped me keep moving forward in a better direction. So much respect for my band mates, crew and management. We did some good boys. Glory to God.

In an interview with Church Leaders, Lowery revealed that while he grew up in a Christian household and had exposure to Christianity, it was never real to him until this past year when he had a major health crisis, which saw him turn to God.
This past year, I’ve learned through my life that God uses suffering, in particular with me, as a good way to humble me…I was at a place in my life where I surrendered it all to God and Christ [and] I immediately started reading the Bible.

Lowery reveals that his pastor neighbor helped him see his sinfulness and need to be saved, and since then, he’s been baptized and has started attending church and bible studies while being mentored by Godly men. When asked about his decision to remain in the band, which occasionally sings songs with explicit lyrics, he offered:
People may see me continuing with the band and say, ‘Oh, there’s hypocrisy in that. I could stay home and stay in my community church and be around some stability and just write worship songs—which is something I absolutely want to do and I will do. But one thing is, I think there’s work to be done.
Very cool. Thanks for covering this.
It’s sufficient to serenely supplant my old employments pay, particularly considering I just work around 10-13 hours every week from home. I was stunned how simple it was after I attempted it duplicate underneath web”

Was there recognition of personal sin and repentance ?
Was there trust in God’s grace alone by faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ alone according to the Holy Bible alone for God’s glory alone ?
If so, welcome him to the fellowship.
If not, do not give false assurance to one who just believes intellectually.
good grief. His statements were pretty brave.
The judgemental commentary of your statements is a big turn off to people seeking Jesus.
DD is not judging. He didn’t accuse the man of it not being genuine. He’s just making sure everyone understands the Gospel. And he’s right to do so. If there isn’t true repentance and true submission to the Lord, then that bravery will have been for nothing.
Time will tell. Kanye West said the same thing and even got baptized in the Nile river. Remember? That was before he started producing porn.
