‘Sound of Freedom’ Star Sues Six Women For Accusing Him of Sexual Misconduct

‘Sound of Freedom’ Star Tim Ballard, who is also the founder of Operation Underground Railroad (OUR), has filed a defamation lawsuit against six women who have accused him of sexual misconduct and assault, according to a recent report by Fox 13.

Ballard was sued in 2023 by several women, including his former executive assistant (you can read their testimonies here. Warning: Graphic Content) Celeste BorysKira LynchSasha HightowerMary HallKrista KaceyBree Righter, and Amy Davis, who say that he took advantage of them while he trained them to be undercover agents working for OUR. They allege he engaged in psychological, sexual, and spiritual manipulation of them under false and deceptive pretenses, using a tactic called “The Couple’s Ruse.”

Ballard’s lawsuit describes it this way, lauding its effectiveness:

With the Couples Ruse, men and women undercover operatives pretend to be in an intimate relationship with each other, and “block” for each other in the presence of traffickers, to maintain the cover of looking like they belong in the trafficking world, but not actually participating in it. For example, when a prostitute expects that the operative would engage in intercourse, the female ruse partner jumps in with jealousy, or a desire herself to engage in relations with the operative, which pushes the prostitute out of the picture. This has been used successfully on multiple occasions.

The women involved say it was much more than that. They allege Ballard said that if they wanted to be successful undercover operatives and rescue trafficked women, they would have to pass as a real couple and be seen as believable, which could be a matter of life and death.

This involved Ballard putting them in sexual situations or engaging in sexual activity under the guise that it would make their relationship seem more believable. Slow at first, then growing in insistency and frequency, he would say he needed to test the women and practice whether or not they could pass as a real couple, touching them inappropriately and engaging in sexual activity. Allegedly, Ballard would have the undercover agent give him a lap dance, in case they had to jump in while at a strip club and “block” a real stripper from giving him one and by give him one instead.

This also involved everything short of kissing on the mouth and actual penetration, where Ballard would touch and rub their breasts and buttocksto see if they flinch or refuse to go along with it, the latter which he would say cost them their lives and the lives of the women they are trying to rescue.

Notably, following the initial claims against Ballard, OUR terminated him and discontinued the “Couple’s Ruse.”

In his suit, Ballard claims he intended to run for office to replace Mitt Romney but saw those plans dashed when “a whirlwind of false accusations, bolstered by ‘anonymous’ interviews, press conferences, press releases, and lawfare court filings, were launched at Mr. Ballard.” As a result, “after having waited nearly a full year for any of the Defendants to withdraw their false claims against Mr. Ballard and come forward with the truth, Mr. Ballard reluctantly brings this suit.”

In his filing, Ballard provided text messages and affidavits from several women who have engaged in the Couples’ Ruse with Ballard, saying nothing inappropriate occurred. He also attached testimonials from some of the women he’s launching the suit against, who previously praised him and his efforts.

Ballard, who is married and has nine children, was recently denounced by the Mormon church, and it is believed he has been excommunicated.
