Church Releases Statement After Firing Child-Predator Pastor: ‘None of the church’s money went to supporting Errol’
Community Christian Church in Tell City, Indiana, has released a statement about their now-former pastor, Errol Wright, after he was arrested and charged with sexual misconduct with a minor, child seduction, and child solicitation. The church told Church Leaders they’d cut ties with him while clarifying that they did not support him financially following his arrest.
We have felt the same shock and hurt as the community concerning the recent incident involving our previous pastor. We neglected to release a statement until now because his family is heavily involved in the church, and we wished to give them time to process. We take accusations of this nature very seriously, and thus Errol Wright is no longer employed by the church and will have no further active involvement, as pastor or otherwise.
We also wish to clear up a misunderstanding that has spread in our silence. None of the church’s money went to supporting Errol or paying his bail; all of the money given to him was from individuals who gave of their own volition.
This is a difficult time for our community, and we ask that everyone continue to pray for all those involved and for God’s will to be done in all of us.
Errol has been accused of having sex with his 15-year-old foster child over a hundred times, both at home and at the church, until she turned 18.
Wright had a GiveSendGo set up in his name, but it was quickly deleted. He posted his $48,000 bond and will appear next for his pretrial Conference on April 3rd.
Who wrote that press release? The church did not neglect to release a statement. They waited or they were looking for additional information, but they didn’t neglect to do it. That’s very poorly written
