Wonderful Update! Hans Schmidt, Evangelist Shot In Head While Street Preaching, Is Up and Awake

A week after evangelist Hans Schmidt was moved out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and into a long-term care facility within the hospital, his eyes are open and he’s able to interact with his family, albeit in a limited manner, with a long way to go, according to a new post by wife Zulya.

Schmidt, a 26-year-old former military combat medic who is married with two small children, was preaching the gospel in the public square when he was fired upon, causing great bodily injury. According to a GoFundMe released in his name, the bullet traveled through his brain and lodged on the right side of his head. ABC reports that “Hans was able to make it all the way back to the church after being shot.”

  1. Great news. I pray that the Lord will heal him completely and continue to use him to reach the lost for Jesus Christ. I also pray for the assailant to receive justice for this crime.
