Derek Webb Attends Dove Awards in Drag
Yesterday, former Caedmon’s Call guitarist and vocalist Derek Webb was pleased to announce that he was attending the 2023 Dove Music Awards in full drag regalia; bringing a lesbian singer and another drag queen as his guests.
It’s par for the course for Webb, who has spent the last two years living as a professional cringey person with the sensibilities of a 14-year-old non-binary TikToker. Webb famously deconstructed his faith and became an enthusiastic pagan and advocate for all things progressive and perverse.
He was joined by Drag Queen Flamy Grant (Real name Matthew Blake), whose debut album ‘Bible Belt Baby’ hit the number #1 spot on the iTunes Christian albums chart ten months after its release, and Grace Baldridge (Semler), the Queer “Christian’ artist that toured with Relient K and has been clamoring to have her music nominated for a Dove award.
At this point, Webb is acting out his fetishistic fantasy of what he imagines it means to be “stunning and brave” when, in reality, the rest of the world sees an embarrassing middle-aged man acting out for attention.
