‘Pastors4Trump’ Speaker Emphatically Declares ‘God is Not in Control’ At ReAwaken American Event

At a recent ReAwaken American event in Las Vegas this past week, Rev. Marty Grisham, demonstrating his lack of theological knowledge and understanding of God’s sovereignty, repeatedly declares that “God is not in control” of the nation in light of evils being perpetuated within it, but rather we are.

The ReAwaken America tour is a cross-counting trek that fuses right-wing and far-right-wing politics and Charismatic Christianity in frequently uncomfortable ways. Hosted primarily by churches, the event comprises of speakers touting conservative values and enduring Donald Trump love, merged with theologically disreputable charismatics prophesying Trump is going to win another term and then lock up his political opponents, all with the occasional conspiracy theory or QAnon reference thrown in for good measure,

Notable Tour speakers have included Charlie Kirk, Sean Feucht, Eric Trump, Mike Lindell, Roger Stone, Alex Jones, and General Michael Flynn, along with more ‘out there’ bonker Charismatics like Like Charisma founder Steve Strang, Julie Green, Greg Locke, Lance Wallnau, Steve Shultz, and Amanda Grace.

During the event, Marty Grisham, who has precious little information about him online other than being the founder of LoudMouth Prayer, “a prayer organization called to educate, equip, and lead people in prayer” whereby “God has given Loudmouth Prayer assignments to teach his people prayer to restore and rebuild cities through daily united prayer with as many people as possible,” had this to say:

One of the problems is people think God’s in control. And even with me saying that I can tell you some of you are like (tilt, tilt tilt “but God is in control.”

Let me tell you something. My God is not in control when 50 million babies are slaughtered. I’m gonna say that again. My God is not in control when the darkness has done what it’s done to the little ones. My God is not in control when children in our own school where we live, teachers sit at the table in the teachers lounge, and they’re witches, and they’re teaching the children’s spells, and they’re bragging about it.

No. So let me talk to you- go and sit back down. Why do you keep standing up? Let me tell you something about my God. My God is glorious. My God is majestic. He is full of splendor, full of majesty. He’s powerful. He is a God of love. He’s amazing in every way.

But he’s not in control.

Because -well just sit, put your little seatbelt on sweetie, I’m gonna tell you about it. He made us in control. And the reason why 50 million babies are killed, and the reason why all this stuff has happened, is because the church has not done their job.

But that’s why you’re here. So you know, I’m not preaching at you, I’m preaching with you. Because you are not the problem. You’re the solution. That’s why you’re here tonight. The problem didn’t want to come. The problem are the pastors that refuse to talk about politics and putting Christians in a place to be able to move government and the laws of the land and implement the laws of God.

  1. There is a cult of Trump. Not all Trump supporters. People vote for different reasons. But those that follow the trump mythology: that he is a Godly man, an honest man, etc. They are cultish in their support and we see it degrading the church. This deplorable theology is one of many examples.

    1. That’s true. There is no discernment. Trump has always been controlled opposition meant to divide, that’s evident by his out of control spending, First Steps Act, forsaking prosecution against his best friend’s wife after conveniently running against her, support of Red Flag Laws and alphabet groups, pandering, personal attacks against actual conservatives, and Warp Speed (among many other issues). Now the left is pushing us to nominate Trump by their attacks, knowing that he’ll lose the general (even if they don’t replace Biden)…and people reacting with emotion are going to give them exactly what they want. It’s disheartening.

      1. Uh, what? “forsaking prosecution against his best friend’s wife after conveniently running against her”

  2. I believe it would be more accurate to state that God has given this country over to its sins by possibly removing His hand of protection and blessing.
As for Trump, I have no desire to side with the Trump Derangement Syndrome or Trump Messiah types as both seem to be intellectually and morally retarded.

    1. I totally agree with you. We are under God’s judgement now. I just finished reading the Book of Deuteronomy and the warnings that Moses gives at the end of his life and what will happen sounds exactly like our country.

  3. I have supported Trump in the past but these antics only serve to demonstrate the vapidity of too many Trump supporters and drive away possible support.

Their obvious lack of a solid theological foundation aside, these people represent the weirdest fringe of evangelicalism ….. This does not end well. Not at all

  4. Michael Flynn said at a very similar event on August 14th that pastors need to “put aside the Bible and read the Constitution.”
