‘Leaky Complementarian’ Matt Chandler Participates in Conference with a Bunch of Pastrixes
Matt Chandler, the “leaky complementarian” and woke charismatic Pastor of the Village Church, head of Acts 29 network, and prolific conference speaker who never met an invitation to speak he could turn down, no matter what scoundrels and theological riffraff he was speaking alongside with.
Chandler, who has been drifting for years now, has been busy in 2021. First, he compared BLM leaders to prophets- saying that not participating in BLM Marches is ‘giving up our inheritance’, then he denounced America as ‘demonic’, while saying that racism is theologically woven into our foundation and finally declared after January 6th that ‘everyone is complicit in the unrest and destruction of our nation’.
Now he’s joining headliners Christine Caine and Sam Collier in speaking at the First Impressions Conference a get-together this coming November that has gathered 44 speakers, including three women pastrixes, with the mission to “encourage” conference growers to ‘dream again” “inspire again” and “lead like never before.”
The standards for soundness are quite low, clearly. Hip Hillsong pastor Sam Collier has a wild theological past. He spent years Youth Choir Director in a church where the Senior Pastor was the openly pro-choice, openly pro-LGBT, heresy-spewing, Planned-Parenthood-endorsed Democrat Senator, Dr. Raphael Warnock.
After his time there, he spent several years at Bishop Eddie Long’s megachurch – a prosperity gospel heretic who preaches wretched blasphemies about name-it-and-claim-it, speaking realities into existence, and little god theology. Later he joined up with Andy Stanley for several years until he was tapped by Hillsong head honcho Brian Houston to lead the new plant, even though Collier has no seminary training and a horrific Christian pedigree.
Another speaker to note is Christine Caine, the charismatic, egalitarian, one-time leader from Hillsong who preaches the word/faith prosperity gospel while leading a network designed to empower women to become preachers and pastors. Caine holds to the notion that Jesus died on the cross to give you possessions, wealth, and health, and that it is there for the taking if you have enough faith and confess it positively.
They’re also joined by several more pastrixes, including Alex Seeley, Lead Pastrix of The Belonging Co, Andi Andrew, Lead Pastrix of Liberty Church, and Keri Ladouceur, Pastrix at Community Christian Church.
Reformation Charlotte covered Keri Ladouceur a few days ago, noting that she was appearing at a conference with SBC Big Names JD Greear and Kevin Ezell, and that “Ezell is being disingenuous in his efforts to uphold the denomination’s standards for women pastors” on account that Ezell, along with former Southern Baptist president, JD Greear, “will be holding a church planting conference with female pastors.”
Anyone holding up Chandler as anything other than a deeply compromised soul needs to stop that right away. While continuing to insist that he’s a textbook complementarian, he continues to platform and participate with pastrixes, demonstrating that it’s all just website orthodoxy on that front. Pray that the Lord draws him back to the relative theological and biblical soundness he once enjoyed.
