Breaking! Greg Locke Formally Declared an ‘Apostle’ at Official Apostolic Installation Service

“Pastor Greg Locke” is now “Apostle Greg Locke,” following an apostolic installation and impartation service yesterday morning at Global Vision Bible Church, which saw the controversial Tennessee pastor and his wife officially given the lofty title and designations.

Readers of Protestia will recognize Locke as the controversial Tennessee pastor who divorced his first wife and remarried under controversial circumstances and who is elbows deep in exorcisms and deliverance ministry after several witches supposedly harassed his church. We last wrote about him after he touted his ‘Humbleness’ and ‘Obedience’ by Partnering with Benny Hinn, repented of writing a Book Against Benny Hinn, and Now Considers Him a ‘Friend,’  threatened a Dunkin’ Donuts worker with kicking his teeth down his throat, and recently said that if you deny the existence of tunnels under the White House or Capitol Building that were uncovered by the military and used to house both live and dead children, you’re just as complicit in the abuse as “crack-smoking perverts.”

During the service, Greg’s wife Tai ( who we last saw pouring a huge jug of oil all over her head) surprised her husband with something that’s been on her heart for nearly a year: “several months ago, the Lord began to speak to me about a lot of things concerning Global Vision and what this year was going to look like for us.” The message? “The Lord is going to make (Greg) a father of many.”

Tai played a video message of fellow deliverance minister and pastor Mike Signorelli praising Locke and declaring:

“Now, just like Romans 1, where Paul says, ‘I am a servant of Christ called to be an apostle,’ I believe now, ‘I Greg Locke, a servant of Christ, called to be a global voice of the gospel to all people,’ called to be one that assigns tasks to others, that activates and imparts and releases the oil of the anointing to subdue and take territories and nations, and places that your feet have not yet traveled physically, but digitally.”

Pastrix Tai shocked her husband by arranging for good friend Malachi O’Brien to oversee his installation as an apostle. O’Brien is the pastor of the Church at Pleasant Ridge in Harrisonville, Missouri, who was also once the president of the Southern Baptist Convention’s influential Committee on Committees and later the SBC’s 2nd Vice President. He declared:

“The bible says in 1 Corinthians 12:28, ‘the Lord has appointed to the church, first, apostles, second, prophets, third, teachers.’ We are here today, Pastor Greg, Pastor Tai, today also to say, “Apostle Greg, and Apostle Tai” to officially recognize what so many have recognized for many years. Nine months ago, in this place. Pastor Mike Signorelli gave a word at the end of the national deliverance conference. Something was conceived in the spirit that today we’re giving birth to. Amen? Amen. And so today is the official apostolic installation service.

Jesus Christ loves Global Vision, Bible Church so much, so much, that he not only is given them an evangelist, a teacher, a prophet, a pastor, but now an apostle.

...This isn’t just for you. I also believe it’s you as well, it’s not just pastor Greg and Pastor Tai, it’s Apostle Greg, and Apostle Tai. I believe that with every fiber of my being, and we affirm that, we affirm that, and Global Vision Bible Church, this isn’t just for them, it’s for you. It’s for all of us that consider this our spiritual family.”

Referencing Locke’s past controversies (which would naturally include his divorce and suspiciously quick remarriage), O’Brien insists that it made him stronger and better equipped for his apostleship.

“We praise You for the conflict. We thank You for the seasons of great trouble and great difficulty, for they were times of great learning, what caused the roots of this ministry to be deep in your word and to be refreshed by only your spirit. And so God, we thank you for the growth. Lord, the stats would have said, the commentator speculated and social media suggested that there was no future here. And Lord, you have proven them wrong every single time. And we praise You and glorify your name.

Lord, thank you for the gift of the teacher, and the pastor, and the evangelist and the prophet and, Lord, we praise you now and so much more for your gift of this apostolic office that you’re giving to this church and to the churches that have not yet even been planted around the world.”

  2. Puffed-up men (and women) elevating themselves above the masses as being somehow more holy. Pathetic.
Oh yeah, and unless Jesus secretly came back and personally chose him, Greg is no more of an apostle than Ozzie Osbourne.

  3. This article is conflating two different pastors, and attributing words from one to the other.

Malachi O’Brien appears in the first portion of the video, John Groves in the prayer portion.

It’s Groves that references conflict, not O’Brien.

  4. Good grief! It’s Todd Bentley 2.0! They never learn. Wonder how long til the next implosion.

  5. He is completely disqualified from ministry. Pastors are not allowed to leave their wives for other women and continue to be pastors much less the elevated to become supposed apostles.

And as for his second wife usurping the role of pastor and subsequently apostle:
I Corinthians 14:34 Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. 35 And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church. 36 Or did the word of God come originally from you? Or was it you only that it reached? 37 If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord.

I Timothy 2:11 Let a woman learn in silence with all submission. 12 And I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man, but to be in silence.
