American Family Radio Drops Alistair Begg Over LGBTQ Wedding Remarks

America Family Radio has dropped Alistair Begg and his daily radio program “Truth For Life” from their lineup after 12 years on air, the latest fallout after the prominent pastor taught that it was acceptable for a Christian to attend an LGBTQ wedding and even buy the couple a gift. According to American Family News:

Before being dropped, “Truth for Life” ran in a 30-minute weekday morning slot on AFR. The radio ministry of AFA operates about 180 radio stations across the United States.

In that time slot Wednesday morning, when AFR listeners would usually listen to Begg’s program, AFA informed listeners about the decision in a live broadcast that included Vitagliano, AFA president Tim Wildmon, and AFA vice president Walker Wildmon.

In the live segment, the AFA president likened the unbiblical same-sex wedding to a father being asked by his son, an alcoholic, to drive him to a bar.

“Son, I’m not driving you to the bar,” Wildmon said. “If you go to the bar and you’re an adult, that’s your decision, but I’m not going to be a part of that.”

After belatedly learning of Begg’s comments, Vitagliano and Walker Wildmon discussed the matter this week in a phone call with staff members representing Begg. After that conversation, AFA made the decision to drop the radio program.

  1. Nothing like being loyal and good for 12 years and then to be betrayed by unforgiving, judgmental and ‘so-called’ Christians who I’m sure never made a mistake. Am Fam Radio acted just like the leftists.

    1. Sorry, wrong is wrong, and capitulating to the perverted state of affairs is most definitely un-Biblical. Shame on Begg, his salt has lost its flavor and is good for nothing but to be trodden underfoot. Bravo to AFA for standing strong. The time has come for God to separate the sheep from the goats, the wheat from the chaff and Christians can no longer sit on the fence. It’s getting real here folks and these trying times will show who is on the Lord’s side. Pray for those whose eyes are being blinded by Satan. Pray, pray, pray and stand strong.

    2. This error would be quite easy to correct. All Begg has to do is recant his clearly unbiblical statement and reaffirm the nature of marriage as ordained by God.

You chose to attack the actions of AFM instead of addressing Begg’s statements.

That alone calls into question who you actually serve ….

  2. 1 John 1:9 NKJV — If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
if by “mistake” you mean “sin” then the LGBT is unable to comply with the cleansing

  3. Does anyone else find it odd that the AFA president and vice-president only spoke to Begg’s staff for clarification and not Begg himself? Was Begg too busy? Too important? Too unapologetic? He passes it off for staff to handle? I would think that would be an important call to take.
