Paul Washer Heart Bypass Surgery Successful: ‘Heart Function is Good’

Two days ago, Heartcry Ministry released an urgent prayer request for Paul Washer, revealing that some troubling medical tests have necessitated Washer to undergo heart bypass surgery scheduled for early Monday morning.

Though the surgery was ultimately pushed back six hours, it was successful, with representatives from his ministry offering the encouraging news that his “heart function is good” while continuing to adjure supports to pray for his ongoing healing and recovery.

And also:

Washer, who is perhaps best known for the Shocking Youth Message he delivered to over 4500 teens at a Baptist conference in 2002, previously suffered a massive heart attack in his Virginia home in 2017. Rushed to the hospital in critical condition, he underwent emergency surgery and spent nearly a week in the hospital, witnessing to everyone he encountered, even the chaplains.

It was exceptionally frightening, given that Washer’s father died of a heart attack when he was younger. While in recovery, he joked to those concerned for him, “If it makes you feel any better, I didn’t go to the third heaven. There won’t be any books.”

In 2022, Washer was slated to speak at the 2022 Old School Conference in Brazil when he began experiencing chest pains and could not attend.

Keep Washer and his family in your fervent prayers.
