Grace Church Sets Date For John MacArthur’s ‘Celebration of Life’ Memorial Service
Grace Community Church has chosen the day of the late John MacArthur’s ‘celebration of life’ memorial service, which will take place on Saturday, August 23, at 10:30 am (PDT)
Sharing that “The memorial will be a time to remember and give thanks for a life wholly devoted to the glory of God through the faithful preaching of His Word,” he church is asking that those attending in person predominantly be members of their church and that visitors wanting to participate watch the service remotely, where it’ll be streamed:
Pastor John’s ministry has touched countless lives across the world, and we recognize that many will desire to join us in honoring his legacy. Due to limited seating and the significant international interest, we kindly ask that individuals and churches participate by joining us via livestream with the wider body of Christ to mourn and rejoice together, focused on the gospel and the truth of Scripture. This will allow our church congregation to participate in the memorial of our pastor.
Cautioning that those who intend to attend in person should plan to sit in overflow seating, which is spread across the entire campus, they also ask that rather than send flowers, folks might consider donating to the “John MacArthur Trust (jmacarthurtrust.org), a ministry whose sole purpose is to facilitate and support the work of key partner ministries that share the theological commitments of John MacArthur.”
