Voddie Baucham Announces He’s Moving Back to America After Living Nearly a Decade in Zambia
After living overseas in Zambia for the last nine years, Voddie Baucham has announced that he and his family are returning to the United States. Baucham shared on his social media page:
After nearly a decade in Zambia, the time has come for the Bauchams to repatriate to the USA. There is a longer story (sign up for our newsletter for more information), but the short version is, our December-February furlough will be our transition back.
PLEASE PRAY!
Please pray for everything surrounding the sale of our house in Lusaka. Please pray for ACU. There are many changes on the horizon and our hope is that the best days are ahead. Please pray for us as we work to wrap things up in the next few weeks (we leave December 1st). Pray for our children. This transition will not be easy. Pray for wisdom as we seek to follow the Lord in regard to our next move. Pray for our furlough. We still need to take care of a number of things in the U.S. before we settle.”
Baucham, a popular conference speaker and teacher and the author of the best-selling book “Fault Lines,” moved to Lusaka, Zambia, in 2015 and became Dean and Senior Lecturer in Applied Theology at Zambia’s African Christian University.
Notably, Baucham had several major health problems three years ago, including undergoing quadruple bypass surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, where he also raised an astonishing 1.2 million dollars in GoFundMe support for his surgeries and post-op medical care.
