‘Charisma News’ Head Stephen Strang Excuses Mike Bickle: ‘This is a Spiritual Attack…Let He Who is Without Sin Cast the First Stone’

Stephen Strang is the founder and chief executive officer of Charisma Media, the prominent Charismatic news and media organization that mixes occasionally decent journalism with heterodox bible teaching; plugging and platforming every wild-eyed charismatic loon and heretic that says they have a word from the Lord. Notably, their senior editor for seven years was Jennifer LeClaire, made famous for inventing the “sneaky squid spirit.”

On his podcast, Strang addressed the recent statement by leader of the International House of Prayer (IHOPKC), Mike Bickle where he admitted, “I sadly admit that 20+ years ago, I sinned by engaging in inappropriate behavior—my moral failures were real.”

According to Jane Doe, the woman Bickle engaged in “inappropriate behavior with,” he started coming onto her when she was 19 and he was 42. Prophesying over her and telling her that she would be his wife one day, despite him being already married, she recounts that he plied her with manipulations, machinations, and spiritual abuse, resulting in the two of them engaging in many acts of sexual activity spanning a period of the years. This activity included everything but intercourse and would certainly qualify as clergy sexual misconduct.

Sizing up the situation, Strang offers that these allegations are “very complicated” and that from his vantage point “this kind of thing is also a spiritual attack.”

Mike has confessed to doing something over 20 years ago…we have to ask why is it such a big deal now 20 years later, and why is it just a couple of months after he motivated and inspired over five million people to pray for Israel?”

Strang likens allegations against Bickle to rape claims against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmation hearing or Russian collusion charges against Trump (whom he believes is a born-again Christian) and looks at how those turned out. He insists:

“If Mike is removed from a position (at IHOP) there’s a very good chance that IHOPKC will fold, and the enemy would like nothing more.

Jesus himself said ‘he who is without sin cast the first stone’ and I just want to bring that up about Mike Bickle. You know, all the people that are accusing him of things have done things themselves. They just have. It just hasn’t been brought to light. And also I ask this question: ‘how long do we hold something against someone?’

You know, in the law there’s a thing called the statute of limitations, and I would think that most people would be willing to forgive Mike Bickle of something that happened 20 years ago. Now, Mike’s statement was not very specific about what it was other than the more recent allegations of clergy sexual abuse were not true, but apparently something happened.

Hey, these things happened. God uses flawed leaders; I mean, just read the Bible. Just about all the great men in the Bible were very, very flawed. David was an adulterer, he had Bathsheba’s husband killed. Moses was a murderer. In fact, when I was on the secular media, and they were talking about Donald Trump, I would make the point God has always used imperfect leaders.”

    He continues

“It’s something that the enemy would want to squash. To me, what’s happening is almost like a really, really nasty church split. And there are churches where people have gotten offended, tried to oust the pastor, brought charges either true or false, or in some cases, exaggerated, and tried to bring down a ministry. And I’m very, very concerned about that.”

He concludes, demonstrating a pathetic lack of discernment and biblical sense.

“We need to pray for the accusers; Mike said that himself in his statement. The word ‘victim’ is being used- it’s unclear who’s a victim. Is it consensual, is it not consensual, there are so many questions. You know I said this earlier; it’s complicated; there is not an easy right or wrong. I’m just stating my opinion.

1: It happened a long time ago.

2: Whatever Mike did, a lot of other people have done too, so he who is without sin cast a first stone.

    3. I believe, and I could be wrong, and if I’m proven wrong, I will be the first to admit it, but it looks to be like there are people who somehow have a vendetta against Mike Bickle for who knows why, offenses. In fact, John Bevere says ‘offenses are the bait of Satan.

It’s one of the worst problems in the church. There are people that would like that Ministry to come down and the enemy of our souls, Satan, is number one. We have to recognize that this is a spiritual attack. We are not fighting against flesh and blood.”

  • Smashing Mute Idols

    Smashing Mute Idols

The erection of and subsequent destruction of the “Satanic” Temple of Iowa’s display in the state capitol presents culture-warring Christians with a learning opportunity if we’re willing to be honest with ourselves. Much like every other flash-in-the-pan, controversy-feeding, ungodly offense turned viral cultural “event,” this incident caused a paparazzi-like rush to keyboards to compete for who could signal the most devotion to Christ in their celebration of (as one voice put it) “decapitating Satan.”

You’ll notice I’m putting “Satan” in quotes because the Satanic Temple doesn’t actually believe in the existence of Satan. They use Satan as a kind of mascot to represent their particular brand of humanism.

Good brothers are disagreeing about the moral and ethical particulars of what happened (almost as if the “Satan” stunt was designed to drive us even further apart), but we can confidently say both that the display was not actually about the real Satan (Isaiah 14:13-14, 2 Corinthians 4:4, Revelation 20:3) and that Iowa lawmakers should never have gullibly approved of its display.

In our free speech legal tradition, citizens are not discriminated against by not having open access to put up displays in a government building, nor are their rights violated by seeing a display that they disagree with or find offensive, even in a government building. Speech is not violence. The “Satanic” Temple’s identity as a religion is itself a lie, and their adoption of Satan (who is real and has a defined moral identity) is itself a promotion of lawlessness and evil. Our country does not recognize a right to lie nor a right to openly advocate for lawlessness, and Iowa lawmakers should have rejected the group’s childish display as the silly stunt that it was.

As believers, we know that idols and idolatrous displays (much like the food sacrificed to them) have no power (Isaiah 44:18). They cannot harm us. In this case, the goofy display of Baphomet put up by the “Satan” group merely joined the chorus of offensive expressions against God that believers are subjected to daily. It is proper that we are offended when we hear or see expression offensive to God, yet in this case we should also be offended by the lack of courage and/or competence of lawmakers who fail to understand that expression cannot be disconnected from meaning.

Much like we are morally obligated to the objectivity of language by insisting (for example) that “male” and “female” correspond to biological reality, a group that identifies with “Satan” should bear the identity of all that Satan implies. They do not get to redefine it, and they don’t get to troll everyone with Satanic idols and then claim “Why you mad, Bro?” non-theism as soon as everyone reacts as if they are truly overtly worshipping Satan. It was a lie, and Iowa lawmakers were stupid for going along with it.

Yet the reaction to the display was also a stunt (I say this as someone who has done a few). The deed was done by Michael Cassidy, a would-be Mississippi politician and Navy veteran who recently decided to brand himself as an “America first” candidate in a failed 2022 US congressional bid that brought to light a host of bizarre and decidedly un-conservative political positions. Now running for a Mississippi house seat, Cassidy saw the “Satanic” Temple display along with the rest of the internet and decided to “awaken Christians to the anti-Christian acts promoted by our government” (his words) by traveling 800 miles to “behead” a silly, powerless display that would have been virtually non-existent apart from its utility to online purveyors of outrage who to this moment remain content to let their audiences believe the display was actually about worshipping Satan rather than trolling Christians.

Incidents like this are far more useful to the enemies of Christ than to his people. We were already outraged at the display and at the lawmakers who allowed it. While less consequential, a conservative Christian destroying property to “awaken Christians to government promotion of anti-Christian acts” (despite the categorical difference between allowing expression and endorsing it) is judicially identical to tearing down a statue of Mary outside a Catholic church or spraypainting “Christ is Lord” on the side of a Mosque. It gives fuel to the enemies of Christ by granting undue influence to those seeking to marginalize the Gospel as a message that needs violence and censorship to advance.

I’ve already heard the “this is why we lose” and “at least someone is doing something” cries from good brothers who pragmatically ignored Oliver Anthony’s thinly-veiled everyman socialism and would likely never literally smash a false idol if it wasn’t low-hanging “Satan” fruit and/or they weren’t running for office. When we see false worship and deception, we decry it, we mock it, and we rebuke the political leaders who fall for it. We don’t adopt the left’s unbiblical, Critical Theory notion that words are violence by responding to powerless, mute idols with violence of our own.

Moms for Liberty co-founder asked to resign from school board amid sex scandal

(Christian Post) The co-founder of the prominent parental rights organization Moms for Liberty has been asked to resign from her position on a Florida school board amid a sex scandal involving her and her husband, who is chair of the Florida Republican Party.

Bridget Ziegler, elected to the Sarasota County Board of Education in 2022, was asked to resign by the other four members in a nonbinding resolution Tuesday night. The board members cited “recent occurrences” that involve Ziegler “that have become public as a result of a law enforcement investigation.”

An affidavit obtained by the Florida Center for Government Accountability revealed that Ziegler had previously engaged in a three-way sexual encounter with her husband, Christian Ziegler, and another… to continue reading click here.

LiveAction Launches ‘Groundbreaking’ New ‘Window to the Womb’ Website

Prominent pro-life group LiveAction has launched a ‘groundbreaking’ new webapp called Window to the Womb, which provides a “stunning look at life in the womb through every single day of pregnancy” in a format never utilized or seen before.

It’s an interactive, animated experience that “provides an unbiased, scientifically accurate exploration of human development.” Users are able to scroll through vivid pictures and animations of a developing child through all stages of pregnancy to see the development and growth.

They can also stop and click on each stage, which has fetal development facts.

In her announcement, LiveAction founder Lila Rose explains that “The abortion industry pulls out all the stops to hide what science tells us about life in the womb. One of their tactics is to keep pregnant women from seeing an image of the baby developing in her womb.

If a pregnant mother is empowered with the information about the human life that is inside her, she is less likely to murder her baby in an abortion. Window to the Womb educates on the reality of human life in the womb and stands as a powerful condemnation of abortion.”

  • Baphomet-Destroyer Michael Cassidy Raises $20,000 in 3 Hours To Pay Legal Bills for ‘Hate Crime’

Baphomet-Destroyer Michael Cassidy Raises $20,000 in 3 Hours To Pay Legal Bills for ‘Hate Crime’

On Thursday, December 14, Michael Cassidy, a Christian, a self-described America First Conservative, walked into the Iowa capital building and smashed Baphomet, decapitating the idol before stuffing its head into a nearby trashcan.

In an interview with The Sentinel, Cassidy explained his motive for wrecking Baphomet.

“The world may tell Christians to submissively accept the legitimization of Satan, but none of the founders would have considered government sanction of Satanic altars inside Capitol buildings as protected by the First Amendment. Anti-Christian values have steadily been mainstreamed more and more in recent decades, and Christians have largely acted like the proverbial frog in the boiling pot of water.”

Cassidy promptly turned himself in to the capital police and was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, a result of The Satanic Temple pressing charges. Not content with such a mild indictment, Lucien Greaves, the co-founder and spokesperson for The Satanic Temple, declared that destroying the statue was a hate crime and will likely be vying for that angle in court.

The Sentinel quickly set up a GiveSendGo fundraiser, and in less than 3 hours, Cassidy raised $20,000, suspending the campaign with the goal met.

While his opponents rage, Cassidy was grateful, sharing:

  • Iowa Baphomet Gets Bonifaced

    Iowa Baphomet Gets Bonifaced

A recent petition by the Satanic Temple of Iowa, under the guidelines of the Iowa legislature, allowed Satanists to place an idol of Baphomet, a winged, goat-headed, trans-human figure, on display in the vicinity of nativity displays on the first floor of the Iowa Capital.

The display drew the ire of many Christians, who lamented the blasphemy of placing an idol in the capitol as a sign of the impending judgment of God upon the nation. Many conservative Republicans, while lamenting the statue as blasphemous, defended the existence of the display on the grounds of constitutional freedom of religious expression.

Republican State Representative and former pastor Jon Dunwell defended the statue’s presence, arguing that the Christian battle is not physical and that he didn’t want the state to evaluate and determine the validity of religions.

“As I continue to hear from Christians on the issue of the Satanic Temple display at the Iowa Capitol, I have found myself shocked at what I believe is a misunderstanding of basic Biblical concepts of the Kingdom of Jesus. It is not a physical kingdom defined by boundaries and nationality….. It is a spiritual kingdom led by Jesus, filled with those who have been transformed by His Spirit’s presence in their lives. The concepts in the Old Testament regarding the nation of Israel, we are called to incorporate in this spiritual kingdom. For example, we tear down the places of idolatry in our hearts. We are not called to physically tear down false places of worship. The battle we fight is primarily spiritual and not physical. We don’t wrestle against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces. Therefore, our primary response needs to be spiritual and not physical…. As an American I reject the concept of Christian nationalism on constitutional grounds. As a Christian I reject the concept of Christian nationalism on Biblical grounds.”

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, a self-described conservative Christian, echoed the sentiment of Dunwell, praising those who joined a vigil around the nativity in response to the Satanic display while defending the free speech rights of Satanists.

The statement by Reynolds shows the tension between Biblical Christianity and the kind of “principled pluralism” espoused by many Republican politicians who adopt this position to gain the mass appeal of voters. Less than a week before the nativity vigil, Reynolds wished the Jewish community a Happy Hanukkah, making another vague reference to good triumphing over evil.

On Thursday, December 14, Michael Cassidy, a Christian, Navy Reserve Instructor Pilot and self-described America First Conservative, walked into the Iowa capital building and smashed Baphomet, decapitating the idol before stuffing its head into a nearby trashcan.

Cassidy promptly turned himself into capital police and was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief, as charges were pressed by the Satanic Temple.

In a statement given at the time of his arrest, Cassidy answered the charges:

“I saw this blasphemous statue and was outraged… My conscience is held captive to the word of God, not to bureaucratic decree. And so I acted.”

Cassidy’s actions, while in defiance of the Radical Two Kingdoms Ideology of many American evangelicals, are reminiscent of those of the 8th-century missionary Boniface. When confronted with the fact that the Saxons had cultivated a type of syncretism that allowed for the worship of Jesus as one of the many gods in the pantheon, Boniface took an axe to their theory, chopping down Thor’s tree, a pagan shrine, in an act that showed the impotence of the pluralistic pantheon of the Saxon’s. Rubbing the noses of the pagans in their idolatry, Boniface used the wood of Thor’s tree to construct a church.

While many of the “mostly peaceful protestors” of 2020 who destroyed statues escaped prosecution, it is likely that Michael Cassidy will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law for his actions. The act of smashing idols in the Iowa Capital will undoubtedly be at the center of the “Christian Nationalism” debate in the days to come. However, one thing is certain: Baphomet, a mere creation of idolaters, is just as weak as Baal, and he won’t be defending himself or his adherents.

The idols of the nations are silver and gold,

        the work of human hands.

     They have mouths, but do not speak;

        they have eyes, but do not see;

they have ears, but do not hear,

nor is there any breath in their mouths.

Those who make them become like them,

so do all who trust in them.

    Psalm 135:15-18

  • ‘After School Satan Club’ to be held at Memphis Elementary School

‘After School Satan Club’ to be held at Memphis Elementary School

It’s no secret that public schools are plagued with sinful worldview and destructive ideologies designed to encourage children to conform to this world. From LGBTQ+ indoctrination to Critical Race Theory, it seems there is little room for basic learning foundations in a public school system that sinks to a new low every chance it gets.

It was announced this week that Chimney Rock Elementary School in Cordova, TN, will begin hosting an ‘After School Satan Club’ (ASSC) sponsored by The Satanic Temple. According to their flyer posted on Facebook, the organization offers many “fun” and “exciting” activities for the children, including science projects, community service projects, puzzles & games, nature activities, arts & crafts, and (of course) snacks.

We last wrote about The Satanic Temple in our posts:
New Mexico Governor’s Is Referring Women to The Satanic Temple for Abortions
Satanic Temple Sues to Stop Abortion Bans, Claims Killing Babies is a Religious Right
The Satanic Temple Raffles Free Abortion, Admits Aborting Unborn Babies is a Satanic Ritual

They are also the same group whose Iowa chapter erected this display at the Iowa Capitol.

The Memphis City Shelby County (MCSC) defended the organization, stating they are “committed to upholding the principles of the First Amendment, which guarantees equal access to all non-profit organizations seeking to use our facilities after school hours.”

While children must have a signed permission slip to attend ASSC, many parents expressed concern- upset at the prospect and considering transferring their children or pulling them from Chimney Rock altogether as a result. Another parent said that MSCS is simply trying to avoid a lawsuit that this organization will spread like wildfire throughout the district. In response, members of the MSCS school board and local faith leaders united to condemn the club but quickly reminded people that the law is the law and that their hands are tied regarding this decision.

These organizations do not primarily target children who are in two-parent homes with conservative religious values. Rather, ASSC and those like it prey on vulnerable children coming from broken homes simply looking for acceptance and direction.

  • Church of England Announces Same-Sex Blessings Can Begin This Sunday

Church of England Announces Same-Sex Blessings Can Begin This Sunday

A month after the Church of England’s General Synod approved a proposal by its bishops to allow clergy to bless same-sex relationships, eager hirelings and spiritual saboteurs are ready to make this a reality, with the House of Bishops voting yesterday 24-11 to allow this to begin this Sunday December 17th.

For decades the deplorable Anglican denomination has been drifting on issues of theology and human sexuality, proving time and time again the 26 million members are not the least bit committed to upholding the biblical teachings but instead adopting the worst excesses of the woke movement in a pathetic and desperate attempt at relevancy.

The “Prayers of Love and Faith” are “offered as resources in praying with and for a same-sex couple who love one another and wish to give thanks for and mark that love in faith before God. To celebrate in God’s presence the commitment two people have made to each other is an occasion for rejoicing.” Accordingly, “the texts are offered to express thanksgiving and hope, with prayer that those who are dedicating their life together to God may grow in faith, love and service as God’s blessing rests upon them.”

One such blessing sodomite couples may receive is the ‘Prayers for a Covenanted Friendship’, which may be used in private prayer and pastoral conversation, privately in church before a minister, or in the context of public worship.

Another is a prayer of God’s blessing over the union, which is something that the Lord would never do.

That the Anglican church believes that they’ll be able to bless same-sex relationships without soon blessing and conducting same-sex marriages, which is what they insisted they would be content with when they initially pushed for this minor consideration, shows how stupid and foolish they really are.

The fifteenth album in this year’s series showing our brothers and sisters in Christ gathering for church service as faithful believers.

While going to church does not make one a believer, refusing to faithfully attend a local church should seriously call that faith into question. This is a glimpse of what the global church is up to, and will feature images in chronological order, week to week, of the men and women being obedient to the scriptures.
