A year after being restored to ministry following the revelation of an unknown disqualifying sin, Bible teacher Tony Evans has announced he’ll be headlining a “faith-filled cruise” with his son Anthony Evans and daughters Priscilla Shirer and Chrystal Evans Hurst.

In June 2024, Evans stepped down from leading the 9,500-member Dallas megachurch Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship after revealing he was guilty of an unknown sin, saying in a statement at the time:
A number of years ago, I fell short of that standard. I am, therefore, required to apply the same biblical standard of repentance and restoration to myself that I have applied to others. I have shared this with my wife, my children, and our church elders, and they have lovingly placed their arms of grace around me. While I have committed no crime, I did not use righteous judgment in my actions. In light of this, I am stepping away from my pastoral duties and am submitting to a healing and restoration process established by the elders.
As a result, he canceled several ministry opportunities, including a planned 2024 cruise. Restored two years later, (but not being restored to a leadership position in his former megachurch), he’s been preaching at multiple churches, including very progressive ones, and now has rebooked the family affair.
In a video posted to his channel, he announced the “spectacular news” that they were headlining a cruise early next year called “Anchored in God: Caribbean Cruise With Tony Evans”
“We want to invite you to join us on a magnificent cruise Feb. 28 through March 7, 2027. It’s going to be an exciting time to be with you and you with us and us with God in the Caribbean. We’re going to have a great time of fellowship, a great time diving deep into God’s Word, and also enjoying the beautiful nature of God.”
A promo for the cruise from Evans reads in part:
While the destinations will be beautiful, the purpose of this time is simply to see new places, to create space—space to rest, to reflect and to engage God’s Word in a focused and meaningful way. We’ve intentionally paced this week to create space for teaching, quiet reflection and unhurried moments with the Lord. There will be times when we gather around Scripture, times to step back, breathe and allow what you are hearing to take root.
Stepping away from daily demands creates an opportunity to see things more clearly—to realign priorities, to hear God’s voice with greater clarity and to return with renewed perspective.
Tickets start at $2,128 and folks will be travelling form Fort Lauderdale to “Nassau, Grand Turk, Amber Cove and Half Moon Cay.- in the Bahamas and Dominican republic.
