Hillsong Church is proposing a major billion-dollar residential and commercial development project on its property in the Norwest area of Sydney’s rapidly growing Hills District.
The church has submitted plans to the New South Wales state government for a large-scale mixed-use precinct. The proposal would include:
- 170,000 sqf of publicly accessible open space
- 915 dwellings (residential units/apartments)
- Commercial and mixed-use buildings
Notably, it would also include the preservation of the existing Hillsong Convention Center on the property.

The development, named Century Hills, would be completed by Capital Corporation, a reputable builder that has completed more than $32B in development projects over the last three decades, and would cost an estimated $1.07B to build.
Because it’s been declared a state-significant development by the Housing Delivery Authority, it requires approval from the Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs).
Unless the project is a joint venture, Hillsong Church would put nearly all its assets on the line as security for the loan.
Commenting on the development, a Hillsong Church representative explained:
“Like many organizations, Hillsong Church is exploring future options and approvals to ensure our property is stewarded responsibly for the long-term mission of the church and the benefit of the wider community. Should any plans be finalized in the future, we will communicate clearly with our church community.
Any proposed plans being explored prioritize the continued servicing of church life, including weekend services and weekday ministries, and are designed not to impact but to enhance our ability to meet the needs of the local community.”
