Former ‘Christianity Today’ News Editor Daniel Silliman Joins The Roys Report

Former ‘Christianity Today’ Senior News Editor Daniel Silliman has joined The Roys Report as a ‘senior reporter/editor,’ following his departure from his former employer late last month.

He shared the news on X.

A press release from TRR reads:

Silliman began his two decades in journalism covering crime in Atlanta and has since led major investigations into abuse and misconduct in Christian contexts. His reporting exposed sexual abuse by the late apologist Ravi Zacharias and the role Zacharias’ board played in covering it up.

Silliman also uncovered allegations that a Fuller Seminary professor secretly practiced polygamy. And during his time at CT, Daniel was trusted to independently report on sexual harassment within the publication itself.

“Daniel is a consummate journalist with a track record for fearless, accurate reporting,” stated TRR Founder and President Julie Roys. “He also has a sterling reputation among survivors of religious trauma for being compassionate and fair. We are thrilled he is joining our team and expanding our ability to investigate and hold Christian leaders and institutions accountable.”

Silliman spent six years at Christianity Today but resigned after revealing he had “significant disagreements with the new leadership, both practical and philosophical.”
