Canadian Province Plans To Ban Praying in Public, Will Introduce Bill This Fall
The province of Quebec is planning on banning praying in public, according to a statement from Secularism Minister Jean-François Roberge, who argued that “the proliferation of street prayer is a serious and sensitive issue.” He added:
“The premier of Quebec has given me the mandate to strengthen secularism, and I am determined to fulfill this mandate diligently. This fall, we will therefore introduce a bill to strengthen secularism in Quebec, in particular by banning street prayers.”
Quebec has a long history of hostility towards Christians. In 2019, the province passed Bill 21, which bans public sector employees, including teachers, police officers, firefighters, doctors, and nurses, from wearing religious symbols, such as crucifixes, while on duty.
Recently, Quebec proposed Bill 94, which would expand Bill 21 to cover additional roles, including staff and volunteers in public schools and after-school care monitors, beyond just teachers and principals.
Quebec’s Premier François Legault strongly supports the measures to ban praying in public, saying:
“Seeing people praying in the streets, in public parks, is not something we want in Quebec. When we want to pray, we go to a church, we go to a mosque, but not in public places. And yes, we will look at the means where we can act legally or otherwise.”

THEY SHOULD BAN PRAYING ON THE STREET WHILE NOT STANDING AND DEPORT ALL THE MUSLIMS.
That man getting down like a Muslim, I would punish with caning if I were the government. If I were the government I would cane the Muslims, then behead them, then deport their corpses to Saudi. But my glorious government would put their heads on pikes to warn against anyone daring to pray in sinilar form to them. And any non-muslim praying in Muslim form would be caned. You will be a Protestant Christian or be deported to the government most closely aligned to your religion. Catholics to the Vatican, Eastern Heterodox to Istanbul, Muslims to Saudi, Jews to Tel Aviv. And in my glorious government, deportations would be being thrown out of a plane to their final destination with no parachute. And atheists would be deported to Tel Aviv too since atheism is a Jewish thing spread by fake Jew Science.

And in my glorious government you will be required to pray the Lord’s Prayer at the DMV or you can’t get your drivers licence renewed. Any time anyone is arrested they will be required to pray the Lord’s Prayer and if they won’t, they will be deported to Tel Aviv as an atheist. Any parent who won’t pray the Lord’s Prayer WITH THE DOXOLOGY will have their kids taken and given to a good Protestant Christian family, in my glorious government.
I wonder what the objective, concrete basis for this law could possibly be. Seems to me the “Secularism Minister” is imposing his beliefs.
Well, I know you’re trolling, but you can’t exactly argue with the fact that “forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us” would indeed cut down on quite a bit of road rage. And “give us this day our daily bread” would cut down on speeding, when people recognize they don’t have to buzz around 150mph just to put bread on the table. And “lead us not into temptation” would cut down on people doing stupid mess in the road.
Just about everything in that prayer is in the law, in some form or another.
Particularly including the fact that, at least in the United States, the government isn’t God, and cannot take his place. “For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory”. It’s the basis for law and the existence of law.
Since Catholics refuse to recite the doxology at the end, it would get all the drunk drivers off the streets by deporting them to the Vatican.
Best to stick with the Byzantines, in most cases. They stuck with the Greek, whereas the RCC translated to Latin (Vaticanus), and used that, then went around burning Greek manuscripts, and making war against anyone who stuck with the Greek. This is why we have the Eastern Orthodox Church to thank for saving many of the Greek manuscripts. In the RCC-controlled west, many were destroyed.

But it’s science. The doxology is in the majority of manuscripts, and the most reliable of manuscripts. And everybody knows prevailing scientific opinions and beliefs must be imposed by force. The religion of secularism.
It’s a stupid argument anyhow, since if everyone were truly born again, spriit filled, of their own volition, and didn’t have a bunch of wicked people doing wicked things all the time, we wouldn’t even need a DMV, or traffic laws, or even police. But then again, if 2 Pet. 3:9 is any indication, at that point the Lord would return, because the unsaved are what He’s waiting on.
