During an Easter lunch at the White House earlier this week, Paula White-Cain, the head pastor of City of Destiny Church and one of President Donald Trump’s spiritual advisors, compared him favorably to Jesus on account of their shared betrayal and hoped for victory.
“Jesus taught so many lessons through his death, burial, and resurrection. He showed us great leadership, great transformation requires great sacrifice. And, Mr. President, no one has paid the price like you have paid the price. It almost cost you your life.”
…You were betrayed and arrested and falsely accused. It’s a familiar pattern that our Lord and Savior showed us. You will be victorious in all you put your hand to because God is using you.”

We last wrote about her after she made a grotesque and manipulative pitch for the pocketbook, asking folks to give her $100,000, after she insisted that Christians must not convert Jews, giggled while her husband recommended that Christian couples watch pornography together, and repeated praised and endorsed the cult leader of the Moonies here, here and here,

Meanwhile, she herself lives in continuous betrayal and false accusation of Jesus, by rebelling against God’s created order. She accuses Jesus of permitting her to sin against her Creator, and therefore accuses Him of sin. Jesus did not hire her to be a leader in His church, and He would not have hired her as a spiritual adviser, in the first place.
It’s ok to compare ourselves to Jesus, and to the Apostles also. We should, because He is our standard. But we have to do so honestly, seeing where we fall short. Otherwise we might claim we’re the best people on earth because we walk on two feet just like Jesus did. Betrayal isn’t exactly a sign of righteousness. Julius Caesar was betrayed. Neither is being falsely accused.
I don’t doubt that God is using Trump, in certain ways. That does seem to be the case. But to try to elevate him to a messiah-like status is fairly wicked. God’s priority is His kingdom. And it’s about His victory, and His victory alone.
Ironically, she shows that women are not wired for the job. Women compare men to Jesus in such ways, because that’s how they’re wired. It’s what they’re supposed to do, to a degree, because they’re supposed to be following the leadership of Godly men who are themselves submitted to the Lord, doing the job that God hired men to do, for which men will be held accountable. Women are also wired to be helpers, just as Eve was created. That’s what they do. When the Apostles reiterated that women should not teach men or hold leadership in the church, they referred back to the created order, and did so for a reason. Women are not wired for the job. And Paula White is one among many jezebels in rebellion against the created order, who cannot help but betray that fact, with just about every other word they speak.
