Ex-‘Jesus Freak’ Kevin Max has divorced his second wife, who he was married to for more than two decades, and married a third time, according to a story in Church Leaders.
Max, 58, best known as one-third of the trio DC Talk, deconstructed his faith years ago. He later announced on social media that he now considers himself to be a non-Christian“exvangelical” who is pro-LGBTQ, pro-choice, renouncing orthodox Christianity in favor of some form of belief in the “Universal Christ.”

Max married his first wife, Alayna Bennett, in 1997. They divorced in 2003. He later married Amanda Lynn MacDonald in 2005, praising her as recently as 2024 on his Facebook.

Max appears to have divorced Amanda in 2025, because he married his new wife, Candace Max, in 2026.
Candace shared in an Instagram post that they were reunited after 29 years.
She first met him when she came to hear him in concert at age 11 and he was 29, where she had the opportunity to have him sign her cast.

Max has four kids from his marriage to Amanda, and Candace has three of her own.
