Man Who Fired 67 Bullets Into Greg Locke’s Home Given 4 Year Prison Sentence

Prosecutors have revealed the motivations of a man who fired more than 60 bullets into the home of Global Vision Bible Church Pastor Greg Locke in a brazen drive-by shooting in late 2024, saying the attempted murder was the result of a “beef” between the accused and Locke’s stepson.

Wilson County Assistant District Attorney Tammy Meade told The Christian Post:

“This had nothing to do with Greg Locke, except he owned the house where it [shooting] happened. It wasn’t retribution for anything he did. It had nothing to do with his teachings…. It was between the juvenile and one of his friends. It was a beef between young men.”

The shooter, Tyler Poole, 21, took a plea deal and pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault and two counts of reckless endangerment in exchange for two more counts of reckless endangerment being dropped.

He was sentenced to five years for the assault charge and two years each on the endangerment counts, to be served concurrently. As a result, with time served for the year in prison, he will be released in less than four years.

Speaking of the judgement, Locke remarked:

“We have no ill feelings towards Tyler whatsoever. We pray he has a life changing encounter with Jesus. We hope he remains strong and healthy. We’ve all made horrible decisions that can either define us or destroy us. Our heart is for him to grow from it, get out and have an amazingly blessed life and family.”
