Prominent American Roman Catholic priest James Martin continues his work of normalizing LGBTQ thought and ideology inside the catholic church, this time by sharing and promoting content from an openly unrepentant ‘gay catholic.’
Known for his outreach ministry to LGBTQ Catholics and advocacy for their full inclusion in the Church, Martin serves as editor-at-large for America Magazine and as a consultor to the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communication, recently reappointed by Pope Francis for another five-year term. Pope Francis has previously praised Martin’s ministry, noting that it seeks to “imitate the style of God” through pastoral zeal and closeness to people, reflecting Jesus’ compassion.
Martin reposted an endorsement from Outreach, the pro-LGBTQ organization he founded in 2022, that teaches homosexuality is good and holy, for the book Theology for the Unwanted: Reclaiming Your Place in the Church, written by Daniel C Tillson.

According to the book’s promo:
Theology for the Unwanted is a bold, compassionate, and faithful exploration of what it means to belong to the Catholic Church—especially when you’ve been made to feel like you don’t. Drawing on the depth of Catholic theology, scripture, and lived experience, Daniel C. Tillson speaks directly to those who have felt pushed to the margins: LGBTQ Catholics, divorced and remarried individuals, single adults, and others who wonder if there is still room for them in the pews. His answer is clear and heartfelt: Yes, there is.
Writing with pastoral warmth and theological clarity, Tillson shows how Catholic teaching can—and must—engage with the complexity of modern life while remaining rooted in truth. He brings the reader into conversation with scripture, natural law, and contemporary moral theology, illuminating how the Church has developed over time and how it continues to grow. Without campaigning for doctrinal change, this book opens space for discernment, healing, and authentic spiritual maturity—encouraging each person to live fully into the dignity with which God created them.
Tillson is a ‘former advisor to the Holy See on issues impacting immigration across the Western Hemisphere,’ and author of, along with the host of a podcast by the same name. Despite framing himself as a ‘traditionally-minded gay Catholic,’ this past summer he and his same-sex ‘partner’ received a couple’s blessing from a priest in a church in Belgium, as part of the late Pope Francis’ Fiducia Supplicans initiative.
