Wife Who Hired Hitman To Kill Missionary Husband Beau Shroyer Sentenced

The wife of murdered Christian missionary Beau Shroyer has been sentenced to 24 year in an Angola prison after being found guilty of orcharastraing his death.

Shroyer was a Detroit Lakes Police officer, pastor, and married father of five. He and his wife, Jackie, 44, moved to Angola three years ago to work as missionaries for SIM USA, where they focused on sharing the gospel with and ministering to children and youth.

According to the Angolan Criminal Investigation Services, Jackie was the “mastermind” behind the killing, offering 23-year-old Isalino Kayoo, 22-year-old Gelson Ramos, and 24-year old Bernadino Elias, the latter who was the couple’s security guard and who is alleged to have been having an affair with Jackie, $50,000 to murder her husband and frame it as a robbery-gone-bad.

He was ultimately lured to a remote location under the guise of someone needing helped and stabbed to death.

One of the motives cited for the killing is that Jackie did not want to leave Angola when their mission ended, desiring instead to remain with her paramour.

Pastor Troy Easton of Lakes Area Vineyard Church, where Shroyer had been a long-term member, noted in a statement that while “extremely difficult to comprehend,” the verdict followed a “very thorough investigation and trial process that was monitored closely, conducted fairly, and carried out with integrity.

SIM USA, the couple’s missionary sending agency, said in a updated statement regarding Jackie Shroyer

SIM USA is grateful for the diligence of the Angolan authorities in their investigation of Beau Shroyer’s murder. The circumstances of Beau’s death are tragic and heartbreaking, but we are grateful for the measure of closure this verdict brings and pray it represent a step toward healing for all those impacted.

SIM USA remains committed to supporting the Shroyer children, who are being cared for by close family with support from SIM counselors and a dedicated fund set up to provide long-term financial support. We are also providing ongoing care to our teams in Angola and the United States, ensuring they have access to the resources they need during this difficult time.

Out of respect for the judicial process and the privacy of those most directly impacted by this tragedy, we will not comment further at this time.”
