Christian rapper and grime artist Ghetts, whose real name is Justin Clarke-Samuel, is facing life in prison after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving in a fatal hit-and-run.
The highly acclaimed songwriter, known for Mercury Prize and BET Award nominations and collaborations with Ed Sheeran and Stormzy, won Best Male Act at the 2021 MOBO Awards and received the 2024 MOBO Pioneer Award for his contributions to British Black culture.

A professing Christian who has been vocal about his faith, Ghetts also won the Outstanding Contribution Award at the Premier Gospel Awards 2025.
On 18 October 2025, Ghetts was driving his BMW at 60 mph in a 30 mph zone in north-east London. While intoxicated with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit, he struck and killed 20-year-old student Yubin Tamang.

On the same day, he was also stopped and charged with careless driving, to which he has also pleaded guilty.
He is due to be sentenced on 12 February 2026.
