Daniel Kellan Mayfield, 37, a former youth pastor at First Baptist Church of Gowensville, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for creating and possessing child pornography, with more charges pending.
Mayfield was initially arrested in 2023 after a woman saw a light outside the bathroom window of her mother’s house, where she had been visiting. She confronted Mayfield, who was still in the backyard, and accused him of voyeurism, which he eventually admitted to.
Later, it was discovered that he had set up hidden cameras in the church women’s washroom, where adults minors were changing and showering as well as at wedding venues where he was the photographer, and had been filming for years.
After seizing his electronic devices, law enforcement found more than 5,000 images of child pornography on his phone. As a result, Mayfield was found guilty and sentenced to 20 years in prison—the maximum allowed—and ordered to register as a sex offender. He also still faces more than 150 charges of voyeurism and other sex crimes from dozens of victims, which law enforcement intends to prosecute.

Mayfield was married at the time, though it is unclear if he still is.
