Prominent Christian apologist William Lane Craig’s name is most often associated with his ministry organization Reasonable Faith, the name of his most famous book and also weekly podcast.
A proponent of ‘mere Christianity theology,’ the professional philosopher gained prominence by pummeling atheists in the name of a ‘bare theism,’ seeking to have them acknowledge that, with the use of a well-executed presentation of Kalam cosmological argument, the preponderance of the evidence is that there is a First Cause in the universe.
While Craig is a member of and a Sunday School teacher at a Southern Baptist Church, he is Wesleyan in his soteriology. He is also a Molinist and social Trinitarian who has proposed a controversial Neo-Apollonarian Christology. Although Craig rejects Open Theism, he has stated (in the course of explaining Transworld Depravity) that God “has to play with the cards He’s dealt.”
In a new video, Lane, who rejects the literalness of Genesis 1-11, repeats his claim that Adam and Eve were members of the archaic pre-homosapien species Homo heidelbergensis that lived 750,000 years ago, and represents those who received a ‘divinely caused’ genetic mutation, perhaps over 50,000 years, which caused greater brain capacity and the ability to have a soul.

This echoes what’s he’s previously written in his First Things essay:

For all the heresy he’s spewing, all I can focus on is that he wears more makeup than most women I know.
His unnatural voice modulation sounds like a sing-song machine. Um… but I’m gonna stick with the Bible’s lineage. It’s very specific and traceably linear. Maybe apes were here with fallen Lucifer that far back, and that’s who he descended from, but Adam and his lovely wife Eve were summarily demoted to the realm of flesh creatures, after a rather costly mistake in judgment about 6000 earth years ago.
Open Theism is correct. Calvinism not only makes us robots but God too. If God always knew all his future actions then he never had a choice. So that’s not the ultimate God but a secondary created being. Calvinism worships a kind of devil created by a higher God they never want to talk about.
I love how so many that get on a site like this blather on and on about subject that has nothing to do with the content.
Anyhow, if our Creator can’t come up with a creation any more unique than what he’s showing, then he’s not very artistic! Nor is he anything special himself, since he tells us Adam was created in HIS image!
When the Bible says that GOD created, He created from dust of the earth, which He created from ex nihlo. Nothing, Nada. THAT’s the Creator God I know, who is so creative He even worked out a way for each of us sinners to actually approach Him, to become one of His (grafted) children!
Praise be to God! Our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified; dead, for 3 days; rose from the dead to break the bondage to death and sin! AMEN!
