Voddie Baucham GiveSendGo Fundraiser Raises $450K Days After His Death
A GiveSendGo fundraiser for the late teacher and theologian Voddie Baucham has raised more than $450,000 in just a few short days following his untimely death at the age of 56.
Started by friend and ministry partner pastor Tom Ascol, the fund, which has reached a quarter of its $2M goal, reads:
On September 25, 2025, our dear brother Voddie Baucham was unexpectedly ushered into the presence of His precious Savior. He leaves behind him his wife, Bridget, nine children (seven of whom are still in their home), and three grandchildren.
Voddie touched millions of lives and countless people from around the world have asked how they may help. One immediate need is financial help for his family.
We are seeking to honor the life and ministry of Voddie by ensuring the ongoing care of Bridget and their children. To do this we need to raise money that will be set up in an appropriate financial instrument with oversight to provide for them in the years ahead.
Responding to baseless suggestions that Baucham potentially misappropriated funds he raised in 2021 to pay for his well-documented quadruple bypass heart surgery, as well as extended hospital stays and other medical interventions and expenses. Ascol notes:
Money that was previously given when Voddie nearly died from heart failure in 2021 was placed in a medical trust fund. Despite what you may have heard from critics and those who tried to cast aspersions on Voddie’s integrity, that fund was continued for that purpose until his death. The remaining amount will be placed in this new fund to provide for the family’s financial needs.

Since I know you can’t find any such scriptures, because there are none, I’ll provide you some scripture.
Adam’s sin spread to all, and the evidence of that is that we die. Death entered the world. (God did not lie when He warned them “you shall surely die”) …
“Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned … For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation … Therefore, as one trespass led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all men. For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous … ” (Romans 5:12-21)
There are many scriptures, but here is the fairly concise reasoning …
“The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray from birth, speaking lies.” (Psalms 58:3)
“as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one;” (Romans 3:10)
If the unrighteous are all unrighteous from the womb, and all are unrighteous, then all are born unrighteous from the womb.
Original sin is not exclusive to Calvinists. It’s foundational to the Gospel, as is explained in the passage referenced from Romans 5. You need a Savior because you were born into sin. That’s the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Other scripture explains, death entered the world because the flesh became corrupt. It’s your corrupt flesh that makes you born into sin. Creation was changed. As God also changed it through and after the flood, and so on.
As the old saying goes, the minute you’re born you start dying. And it’s true. Because your flesh is corrupt. You’re no more sinless at birth than your flesh is immortal at birth.

Now you’re talking about an entirely different concept, TQ, which is the age of accountability. None of the scriptures you have posted suggest that anybody is born sinless or without a sinful nature. What they say is that there is an age at which children don’t know any better.
They have to be taught to not sin, and to do what’s right. And of course, the reason they have to be taught, is because they’re born with a sinful nature. Look again at Isaiah 7:16.

I don’t know of any reputable apologists who reject original sin. Certainly no Christian would reject it, because it’s foundational to the Gospel – you cannot be a Christian if you don’t recognize that you are born into sin with a sinful nature, and that you need a Savior. If you don’t like Got Questions, you can go to CARM or some other.
It’s clear that you don’t understand these concepts. And you’re getting way too worked up about things you don’t understand.
First and foremost, TQ, you need to understand that God’s word does not conflict. You are not going to find one scripture that says one thing and another that says the opposite. No such conflicts exist in scripture.
By conflating the concept of original sin with the concept of the age of accountability, you are essentially claiming that the Bible conflicts itself. And you are somewhat doing the same by conflating sin with sinful nature, and with hyperbolic reasoning about like saying a child isn’t an ax murderer so therefore the child is sinless.
God’s word does not conflict …
That hyperbolic reasoning would be something akin to a Motte and Bailey fallacy.
Isaiah 7:14-16, btw, is a prophecy about Jesus. What it’s saying is that Jesus would know right from wrong at a very early age. Because, of course, He was born sinless, and was born knowing right from wrong. He is the one and only who has ever been born sinless (Adam was not born, but was created)
The fact that children don’t know right from wrong, and have to be taught, is evidence of the sinful nature – of the corrupted flesh. If they were sinless, they’d be born knowing right from wrong.
Don’t confuse all this with some sort of hatred of children. No, children are a tremendous gift from the Lord. You can see from the picture that Voddie had no hatred of children. But they are not born perfect and sinless. Far from it. They must be taught. They must be disciplined. If not, they’ll grow up to be vipers out of diapers (though probably still expecting somebody else to wipe their posterior)

TQ, infant damnation (which I do not believe) is not the same as the doctrine of original sin. Again, you’re conflating two different concepts. I’d put such a belief more in the category of extreme hypercalvinism.
Based on what I know of scripture, I believe salvation and election are two different things. And I also don’t believe any are predestined to damnation. On these points, I disagree with the Calvinists, and I believe scripture also disagrees with such a view. The Lord is not willing that ANY should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance (2 Pet. 3:9).
There is no partiality with the Lord. On that point, we agree. Where we disagree is whether or not all are born sinful or all are born good. According to scripture, ALL are born sinful. And ALL need a Savior. And as I said, that’s not exclusive to Calvinism or Reformed theologies. That’s foundational to the Gospel.
Where it starts to get messy and confusing is when you start thinking about the fact that God knows the future. That’s where people start getting off track, in my opinion, by trying to understand and explain it. Personally, I believe there are things we’re just not supposed to understand, never will understand, and never could understand. But some seem to conflate God’s foreknowledge with His will. And we have to remember that He did not create mindless robots. He, of His own will, chose to give mankind free will. And so that does not diminish His sovereignty. The fact that He may know what’s going to happen doesn’t mean that He wants it to happen. Right. Those are two entirely different things.
Scripture itself testifies that there are also things that God has sealed up and hidden, not to be revealed until it is time. And those things are in the scripture itself. Right there in plain sight. But they will not be seen and understood until the Holy Spirit reveals them. And when He reveals them, they will be revealed to all born again believers, by the Holy Spirit himself. They will not be revealed through some televangelist or false prophet. Who knows. One of those hidden things may be the understanding of what is meant by the “elect”. I tend to believe it refers to some who have a special calling. In some cases, such scriptures will refer to the Apostles themselves – certain one’s concerning who the Lord chose, since He chose those disciples and Paul, revealing Himself directly to them. But do I know with certainty? Nope. And I don’t believe anybody else does either. If they do, I haven’t heard it.
The first and foremost rule is that scripture does not conflict with itself. It doesn’t. If we think it does, then we’re wrong. It’s not wrong. We’re wrong. If our explanation or interpretation conflicts with any scripture at all, then our interpretation is wrong. I believe that.

Apparently you’ve confused total depravity with the doctrine of original sin. They are not the same. The concept of total depravity is the idea that mankind is born so depraved and so wicked that he does not even have the capacity to choose of his own accord to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. It’s the idea that no human being can even say that prayer of his own accord. And that concept of complete and total depravity is entirely different from the doctrine of original sin and sinful nature.
There are certainly very fair criticisms that can be made of Calvinism. Some of the authors here at Protestia have done so. They are not Calvinists, or the sort of hypercalvinists that same some are predestined to damnation and some are predestined to eternal life. Protestia’s views are more similar to mine. And so are the views of the apologists at Got Questions (and also CARM, if he hasn’t changed his views – it’s been several years since I visited that site). The guys at God Questions don’t believe in infant damnation either.
