Anti-Abortion Org. ‘Choice42’ Releases Visceral Film On Abortion Pills, Based on True Story in Texas
Laura Klassen, the founder and Director of the anti-abortion organization Choice42, has released the next short film in their Exposed Series titled Death on Delivery, which features a real conversation between a woman seeking abortion pills in Texas, where abortion has been made “illegal,” and the person on the other end who procures them for her.
Notably, the person procuring the abortion pills sends proof that the medications work and are legitimate, in the form of real dead babies on the bathroom floor, prompting Choice42 to ask:
Who is the Abortionist?
In this true story, which took place in Texas, who is the Abortionist? It is an important question given that many in the Pro-Life Movement claim that if anyone is prosecuted for doing abortions, it should be the Abortionist.
Some questions to consider:
1. Who ordered the pills (after looking at pictures that guarantee “proof of success”)?
2. Once they arrived, who administered the pills?
3. Who delivered these babies alive on the bathroom floor?
4. Who chose to allow these babies, born alive, to die?
5. Who disposed of the grisly evidence of the murder of these twins by burying them in the backyard?
So, let’s ask the question again: In Death on Delivery, who is the Abortionist? It’s obviously the mother of these twin babies (six-months gestation). She is the one who ordered the pills, swallowed the pills, delivered the babies alive on the bathroom floor, allowed them to die, and disposed of the evidence by burying the babies’ bodies in the backyard.
Which raises the question:
If we lived in a just society, the same law would apply for anyone who murders their own baby. We do not live in such a society. Whenever a law is written on any level (state, provincial, federal) which refuses to give equal justice for human life at any stage of human development, it is an unjust law. Laws such as Texas HB 7 provide special protections for women who act as the Abortionist and murder their own babies. (The law repeatedly states that the woman who does this in Texas will face no penalty at all – civil or legal.)
Marked by high production values, including the score and voiceover work, the film follows in the footsteps of other stunning animated shorts the group has created, including The Procedure, Build-A-Baby, and It’s Ok, all of which absolutely should be seen.
Though animated, this film is emotionally jarring, draining, and should be shared far and wide.
