An Oklahoma church has created a statue of a false god and put it in their church lobby for congregants to pass by and take pictures with.

For their At the Movies sermon series, Life.Church Omaha put on a Moana-themed sermom series and decorated the church building with the theme. (Click to enlarge)
Along with these set pieces, however, was the erection of a large depiction of the false goddess Te-Fiti right near their entrance.
In the Moana films, Te Fiti was the first being to exist in a world of only ocean. She is a divine being with the ability to create life, which she used to form the Polynesian islands. Using her life-giving heart, she crafted islands filled with plants, animals, and people. After her work, she rested, becoming an island herself. Her heart became a coveted treasure, sought by villains like the Great Eel, Tamatoa the crab, and the fierce Kakamora pirates, all wanting its power for themselves.
Maui, himself a demigod and a bold trickster, used his shapeshifting skills to steal the heart from Te Fiti’s spiral, hoping to gift it to humans. This theft plunged the island into darkness and turned Te Fiti into the demonic god Te Kā, fiery and destructive demon who becomes the film’s main antagonist
With Te Kā in control, a dark, life-draining force begins to destroy the islands Te Fiti had created, and only restoring her heart stopsthe destruction.
And Life. Church just put a depiction of it in their church building so that people can take pictures of themselves alongside this deity.

Thank you for exposing the tip of the blasphemous nonsense that goes on inside ”Christian” churches. I am outraged by paganism inside the walls permitted by pastors, but even MORE SO that members go along with it, and actually take their kids to stuff like this! We don’t even need Satan anymore; we’re doing a fine job destroying Christianity ourselves. Come, Lord Jesus!

So, I agree with putting images of false gods in the church building either. However, my real question is what is the rationale, what are their apologetics for such extravagant displays of this and other movies? What is the whole point?
