Prominent TX Pastor Resigns Following Revelation Of Long-Term Pornography Addiction
Another prominent pastor in the Dallas/Fort Worth area has stepped down following revelations of an ongoing pattern of moral failure, according to a recent report by The Watch Keep.
David Daniels, the lead pastor of Central Bible Church, an 1,800-member non-denominational church in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, was asked to resign due to unspecified sins, as announced by the church several days ago. The announcement was quickly removed from the church’s platforms, but they shared on their Instagram page that an in-house Q&A session would be held for members seeking further details.
Following the announcement, Daniels stated he would be stepping away from social media for a period.
On his X account, where he has been inactive since April 2024, however, he made a single, puzzling comment on The Watch Keep’s post about the story, claiming he had no idea what the the post was referring to.
An email obtained by The Watch Keep, allegedly sent to church members, clarified that the ongoing pattern of moral failure involved, at the very least, a long-term addiction to pornography that was “affecting his marriage and his walk with the Lord”
This marks yet another prominent Texas pastor who has recently resigned due to moral failings. Other pastors include Robert Morris of Gateway Church, Tony Evans of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church, Ronald Goines of Koinonia Church, Tony Cammarota of Stonebriar Community Church, and Josiah Anthony of Cross Timbers Church

While he took too long to confess his sin, he is good and right to do so and to step down while he gets spiritual help for an addiction. Porn is a serious , a major sin, a plague happening too often in the church, and a source of shame for good men and women. The people posting nonsense here have no idea what it means to be a Christian and no clue that this is actually actions consistent with Christian doctrine…openly confess your sin to those you have sinned against (his family and the church) and remove yourself from leadership. Christian leaders are a constant target of Satan…they are no more above sin that any human. That’s why God provided confession, accountability, and repentance (turning away from sin) as the pathway to renewal and restoration.

Indeed correct, except that taking too long, i.e., persistent and rebellious continuance in sin, is a more serious problem than the sin itself, as it could indicate one likely never was born again with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and has a seared conscience. If he is now repentant, then it very well could be that he has only now truly submitted to the Lord. That’s good, but not as good as it should’ve been. He should’ve been convicted and heeded the conviction long before now. Whether or not his doctrine is correct and in line with scripture, he has led and taught foremost by his example, and is therefore a false prophet. For these reasons, he should be permanently disqualified.
NOBODY is sinless at any given time. “I know that nothing good lives in me, that is in my sinful nature.” And this pastor made the right decision to step out of leadership of his own volition. But forgiveness is demanded by the Lord of all the repentant, as HE forgives us. “Who will rescue me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord.” The born again cannot lose their salvation, so with or without repentance, it is already forgiven by God. You may have had all your sins forgiven at time of conversion, but you may still pay the consequences of it for a lifetime. If we could be righteous of ourselves, Christ would not have had to come.
