Church Minister Tells Children It’s Ok To Attend Pride Parade In the Nude

Canadian Memorial United Church in Vancouver, BC, is a progressive church that is part of the United Church of Canada. Described as a “vibrant progressive spiritual community and center for peace that encourages contemplation, transformation, and action in the world,” they are also “committed to working for the full inclusion of people of all sexual orientations and gender identities in the United Church of Canada and in society.”
The church is led by Jeffrey Rock. Rock lives with his long-time boyfriend, but the two just announced that they’re getting married. In lieu of gifts for his upcoming nuptials, he’s asking for cash to help him adopt a baby through surrogacy.

Notably, we covered him after he insisted that the church needs to be radically inclusive when it comes to Christians in polygamous and ‘ethical-non monogamous’ relationships.
During a recent church service, Mary Toth, the Children’s Church Coordinator, invited the children to the front for storytime. She proceeded to read The Rainbow Parade by Emily Neilson, which tells the story of a young girl excitedly attending her first Pride parade.
One page features a couple in leather bondage gear in the bottom right corner, with the caption: “Everyone is wearing whatever makes them feel like themselves.” Another page states, “Even if that means wearing hardly anything at all.”

Sadly, having adults attending the Pride parade completely nude, walking and dancing in front of children is not only tolerated, but widely accepted and even celebrated.

And this church is helping normalize it.
Oh GOD! Please don’t let the youth minister show up naked for a parade.
