SBC Church Puts On ‘One Hit Wonder’ Sermon Series Ft. Shaggy’s ‘It Wasn’t Me’
Cornerstone Church in Gadsden, AL, is a Southern Baptist church with a non-denominational feel led by Lead Pastor Daniel Woodcock.
Prominently advertising “No matter your background, ethnicity, skin color YOU BELONG HERE!,” their church website lists their values, which include: “We value Total Acceptance. It’s about love. We love everyone no matter what. We are a church that will be known what we are for not what we are against.”
While currently in the middle of an ‘At the Movies’ sermon series, they have just completed a ‘One Hit Wonders’ sermon series.
This series covered classic tunes like OMC’s ‘How Bizarre,’ AHA’s Take On Me, Haddaway’s ‘What is Love,’ and Shaggy’s It Wasn’t Me, which is what the sermon is based on, and which has the memorable lyrics:

Let’s everybody save time and move on by having this organization stop claiming to be a church and become a family friendly (well, maybe not) entertainment center. They kicked Jesus, the gospel, and sanctification out a long time ago. The so-called pastor can now do something he’s better suited for — be a DJ, book upcoming acts, and promote pole dancing if that’s what you call it.
If this “church” belongs to either a local or state SBC organization of other SBC churches then they must expel this rogue organization quickly. What an embarrassment to the faith and to our Lord.
