Suspect Who Murdered and Mutilated Beloved AZ Pastor Has Been Arrested

A man is in custody in connection to the April 28 slaying of an Arizona pastor affectionately known as “Pastor Bill.”

Two months ago, Bill Schonemann, 76, the beloved leader of New River Bible Chape, was discovered deceased following a welfare check.

Authorities quickly ruled the incident as “foul play” and classified the case as a homicide due to the nature of his injuries, with the pastor being found dead in his home “on the bed with his arms spread out and hands pinned to the wall.”

Adam Sheafe, 49, was arrested on unrelated burglary charges but quickly became linked to the victim.

According to Red Rock News:

Maricopa County Sheriff Jerry Sheridan said the murder case was “tragic and bizarre.” MCSO also stated that Schonemann’s murder was religious in nature but declined to provide specifics.

Sheridan said other future victims were planned, some in Arizona, but MCSO had been in contact with those potential victims
