Vatican Softens Its Views On Gender-Affirming Surgery, Citing ‘Exceptional Situations’?

The Vatican appears to have softened its position on gender-affirming care, publishing a paper of a speech from Cardinal Victor Manuel Fernández, the prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith, who insisted:
“There are cases outside the norm, such as strong dysphorias that can lead to an unbearable existence or even suicide. These exceptional situations must be evaluated with great care….we don’t want to be cruel and say that we don’t understand people’s conditioning and the deep suffering that exists in some cases of ‘dysphoria’ that manifests itself even from childhood.”
The paper seems to be at odds with previous statements from the Vatican, including the paper “Dignitas Infinita” (“Infinite Dignity”), which was approved by Pope Francis. That missive rejects efforts to deface and obscure “the sexual difference between man and woman” and asserts that “any sex-change intervention, as a rule, risks threatening the unique dignity the person has received from the moment of conception.”
Unless, seemingly, possibly, there are “exceptional situations” that must be examined on a case-to-case basis.
Now show some compassion and understanding for those who suffer from a taste for human flesh, Francis. And where is your help for those who enjoy torturing kittens as sport? Why are neither of these good folks – cannibals and animal abusers – mentioned in your pretty statement? Why the ugly bigotry against those groups? When will you soften your position so as to include those poor suffering people? What’s wrong with a greater variety in our diets? What do you have against sporting events, Mr. Pope?
He is, as the sex change procedures are tested on animals by abusing them. Trump mentioned the 80 billion dollars or some ludicrous number spent on transing rats.

One thing they fail to understand about God’s law is that compassion and acceptance of the wicked can very often be an act of cruelty toward the righteous. There are times and circumstances where there is no choice but to be cruel to certain persons. The question then is not whether or not you’re going to be cruel, but who are you going to be cruel to. For example, the boy with “dysphoria” who wants to play on the girls team, or the girl who suffers severe permanent injury? There’s a reason that God said sexual sin and transvestism are sins deserving of the death penalty. And that reason is not because God is cruel or hateful. It’s because God is not cruel to the righteous, and does not punish the righteous. But punishes the wicked.
They got off track (possibly intentionally) with the attempt to draw too much distinction between “ontological dignity” and “moral dignity”. There is somewhat of a distinction, from a Biblical standpoint, but at the same time, however, the wicked are identified by their sin and are treated according to their sin. And will ultimately face eternal damnation for their sin. There are several instances where we are specifically told to avoid certain peoples, and to not associate. There are many times when it is impossible to accept, include, and associate with someone without also accepting and justifying their sin. 1 Cor. 5, for example. Sure you might say it’s “cruel” to kick out and exclude the sexually immoral. I’m sure the wicked man no doubt felt like he was being treated cruelly. But it would be cruel to believers for him not to have been kicked out. Even more cruel considering eternal ramifications, and the extreme violation of their conscience, knowing that it is an abominable sin, is rebellion against the Lord, and an insult to Him and His grace, that we cannot justify wickedness or condemn righteousness.
It’s not a question of whether or not we’ll be cruel. It’s a question of to whom will we be cruel. The wicked or the righteous. This is why God says “your eye shall not pity” the wicked who suffer the consequences of their sin. Such pity is cruel to him, disrespectful to Him, cruel to the righteous, and when eternal ramifications are considered, even cruel to the wicked, since God is patiently waiting for them to repent (2 Pet. 3:9), and enabling and encouraging them in their wickedness is not going to call them to that repentance.
The commandments of God are not grievous or unloving (1 John 5:1-5)
If “dysphoria” is defined as unease, dissatisfaction, and discontent, then all wickedness since Satan rebelled against God has been a matter of “dysphoria”. He rebelled because “dysphoria”. Adam and Eve ate the fruit because “dysphoria”.
When it is a matter of unease and dissatisfaction with righteousness, then it is the fruit of a wicked heart.
What gospel, then, are they preaching?
Not to cure the “dysphoria”, according to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but to spread it, to create more unease, misery, and discontent, to transfer it to the righteous. To make the righteous uneasy, discontent, and miserable, and to coerce the righteous to sin. (which is the blatantly, openly stated goal of many of those wicked ones pushing the wickedness, in the first place – they know exactly what they’re doing, and are doing it on purpose)
In many cases, “dysphoria” is not just at the root of the sin, but IS the sin. Ultimately, dissatisfaction and discontent with God Himself.
There is no such thing as transgender – there are only those who reject God’s specific design for the sexes. The reason that so-called gender dysphoria exists is two-fold: children were not raised with a Biblical healthy awareness of their own sexuality and Biblical role models of how men and women should develop – or, God has given them over to a reprobate mind because they have rejected Him.
Are they getting ready to sex change that nun they put in charge of the dicastery of religious orders so she can be elected pope?

Non-cessationists are so hung up on their false interpretation of Scripture that they can’t even wish someone well, as they finish running the race of faith towards the end of their life . John MacArthur is a top level theologian who has rightly divided the Word and probably the greatest preacher since Spurgeon, and you have to bring up disputable charismatic and other issues as he is basically saying goodbye as a preacher. Your pride is on parade before all the world. rb.gy/tzkwnx
It is mental illness. Too many people still living under the lies of the Vatican
Aminawajid, uh, what??? Good job bringing up a completely unrelated subject that has no need to be discussed here. Try not deflecting next time.
