Professing Christian Denzel Washington Reveals He Kissed Another Man for Gladiator II Film
In an interview with Gayety, a “digital entertainment magazine for men who love men,” Denzel Washinton, star of the upcoming film Gladiator II, reveals that he had a gay kissing scene with another man, but that producers left it on cutting room floor because “they weren’t ready for that yet.”
I actually kissed a man in the film, but they took it out, they cut it. I think they got chicken…I kissed a guy full on the lips and I guess they weren’t ready for that yet.
For decades, Washington has been recognized in Hollywood for being vocal about his Christian faith. However, his willingness to participate in a same-sex kiss with another man for a film role raises red-alarm concerns and betrays a significant compromise in his beliefs.
