Chick-fil-A To Launch Streaming Service With Original Shows
Every Christian’s favorite fast-food restaurant is planning on launching a streaming service later this year, with Chick-Fil-A “moving aggressively into the entertainment space with plans to launch a slate of originals for its own streaming platform” according to a new report by Deadline.
Deadline understands that the fast-food firm has been working with a number of major production companies, including some of the studios, to create family-friendly shows, particularly in the unscripted space. It is also in talks to license and acquire content.
It’s unclear the exact nature of the types of shows they will be producing, but reportedly, they will initially focus on unscripted family-friendly game shows with a budget of around $400,000 per episode, with animated cartoon and scripted projects to come later.
Chick-fil-A was founded by S. Truett Cathy, a devout Southern Baptist in 1946, and is known for bringing their Christian values into their business model. They are closed on Sundays, pay higher than average wages, and their official corporate statement of purpose is “To glorify God by being a faithful steward of all that is entrusted to us. To have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.”
