International House of Prayer (IHOPKC) Shuts Down Prophecy/ Healing Ministry Following Mike Bickle Fallout
The International House of Prayer has shuttered its Prophecy and Healing Rooms ministries for the foreseeable future, with a notice on its website stating that they are “working diligently to reopen these rooms in a manner that is pleasing to the Lord.”
The move comes as IHOP continues to be rocked by the consequences of multiple instances of sexual impropriety and abuse at the vaunted charismatic institution, particularly by founder Mike Bickle.
IHOPKC’s Prophecy and Healing rooms are exactly as they sound; places where people can go to receive healing and prophecies from bonafide IHOP prophets whose accuracy is dubious and suspect. Given the fallout and scandals they are currently embroiled in, including the loss of multiple members of senior leadership, it may be a while before they re-open.
It is not the first time these rooms have closed, however. Like Bethel Church, IHOP previously closed its healing centers during the COVID-19 scare, calling into question its efficacy.
