‘After School Satan Club’ to be held at Memphis Elementary School

It’s no secret that public schools are plagued with sinful worldview and destructive ideologies designed to encourage children to conform to this world. From LGBTQ+ indoctrination to Critical Race Theory, it seems there is little room for basic learning foundations in a public school system that sinks to a new low every chance it gets.

It was announced this week that Chimney Rock Elementary School in Cordova, TN, will begin hosting an ‘After School Satan Club’ (ASSC) sponsored by The Satanic Temple. According to their flyer posted on Facebook, the organization offers many “fun” and “exciting” activities for the children, including science projects, community service projects, puzzles & games, nature activities, arts & crafts, and (of course) snacks.

We last wrote about The Satanic Temple in our posts:

They are also the same group whose Iowa chapter erected this display at the Iowa Capitol.

The Memphis City Shelby County (MCSC) defended the organization, stating they are “committed to upholding the principles of the First Amendment, which guarantees equal access to all non-profit organizations seeking to use our facilities after school hours.”

While children must have a signed permission slip to attend ASSC, many parents expressed concern- upset at the prospect and considering transferring their children or pulling them from Chimney Rock altogether as a result. Another parent said that MSCS is simply trying to avoid a lawsuit that this organization will spread like wildfire throughout the district. In response, members of the MSCS school board and local faith leaders united to condemn the club but quickly reminded people that the law is the law and that their hands are tied regarding this decision.

These organizations do not primarily target children who are in two-parent homes with conservative religious values. Rather, ASSC and those like it prey on vulnerable children coming from broken homes simply looking for acceptance and direction.

  1. This site’s strict guidelines on comments preclude me from mentioning how this situation and the evil individuals behind it would have been handled in Christ’s day.

  2. I wonder if drag queen story hour will also attach itself to this movement? Will the snack menu have to include deviled eggs?
