Georgia Revival Trades ‘Slain in the Spirit’ with ‘Splashing in the Spirit’
Todd and Karen Smith are the senior pastor and impastorette of Christ Fellowship Church in Dawsonville, Georgia. Smith was once a Southern Baptist preacher who grew disenfranchised with the church’s doctrine and teachings. During this time, he claimed he had a dramatic vision of the church’s baptismal pool covered in fire and that the Lord told him a revival was coming based on water baptism and healing. To that end, he founded a charismatic and Pentecostal church that better reflected his burgeoning theology.
The host church of the so-called ‘North Georgia Revival,’ which is now into its fifth year, their defining hallmark seems to be charismatic manifestations in a large pool in the sanctuary, trading being slain in the spirit with splashing in the spirit.
They write on their website:
Since 2018 the North Georgia Revival has seen thousands of critical illnesses healed, blind eyes open, deaf ears that can now here, families reunited, the lost come back home, and those with mental illness be made whole. This revival is not exclusive to any one church as the revival is transferrable to all churches who want it. We have seen the smallest of churches get ignited with revival fire. Their buildings, their garages, and the places where they gather quickly fill up with crowds of people traveling from miles around hungry for an authentic encounter with The LORD in the water.
Unfortunately, despite being the site of thousands of “big miracles” none of these have been validated or authenticated or made the news in any way.
Aren’t they concerned with the Leviathan spirit ?
I have it on good authority that it is pretty dangerous 😬
What a wonderful display of the work of the Spirit, just like the Scriptures teach …. NOT
