Transformation Church Addresses Carl Lentz Hiring During Service; ‘It Made National News that Somebody Got a Job’

Pastor Michael Todd leads Transformation Church (TC.) He is known for crowd surfing during his church’s worship service and spending a lot of money. In the last two years, he’s given away $3,500,000 in houses, cash, and cars, spent $65,000 to buy 168 pairs of shoes, gave $600,000 in “reparations,” and purchased $66,000,000 in real estate.

He’s also known for preaching some good old-fashioned Modalism, giving the world perhaps the grossest illustration in church after he snorted and then hocked a loogie full of spit and snot into his hand and rubbed it in another man’s face and claiming his church had 75k salvations in the last 18 months even though practically none of them stuck around. He recently had a service where ballet dancers with bare butts danced around the stage, frequently flashing the audience.

As we reported, he also brought on disgraced Hillsong NYC pastor Carl Lentz on staff as a ‘Strategist’ despite Lentz having a history of long-term grooming, multiple adulterous affairs, allegations of sexual assault, allegations that he paid for prostitutes to give him sexual massages, and overseeing the implosion of his church.

Tammy McQuarters, Transformation Church’s Executive Pastor, told  2 News Oklahoma that they believe Lentz is restored and would be used to restore others.

“After two years of Carl being in his own discovery and healing process, he has shown readiness to use his God-given gifts towards the local church again. We believe in Carl, his marriage, his skill set, and his restoration. We pray that Carl, Laura, and their family experience not only their own restoration, but help others experience restoration by using their triumphs and failures to create resources for the body of Christ at large. We believe that this is part of what it looks like for the church to be the church.”

During the April 3, 2023 service, Oversight Pastor Tim Ross told congregants:

I just want to make a statement, point something out. It made national news last week that somebody got a job. And I’m happy when anybody gets a job, I want people employed. But because of who this individual is and has been to the body of Christ, itt made alittle bit more news.

Transformation Church issued a statement that I am not going to repeat, it speaks for itself, but I do want to read a scripture that I hope that’s just brings some context to what we are doing as a church for Carl, Laura and their family. It’s very, very important for us to know as a church and for the larger body of Christ, because I’m sure there’s some people that are just curious.

The Lentz family is not hiding here; they’re covered here.

In the book of Galatians, chapter number 6, starting at the first verse it simply says “Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself. Share each other’s burdens, and in this way, obey the law of Christ. If you think you are too important to help someone You are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.

I’m going to let the scriptures speak for itself, and turn my attention to my assignment.

The issue is not that Lentz is attending Transformation Church, but that he got a job working as a strategist for the church, despite a long history of sexual grooming and predation, inlcuding clergy sexual misconduct. Apparently for Transformation, because Lentz restored himself, he’s now fit to be in a leadership position within the church where he can “create resources for them.” How sad and unsurprising,

  1. No, the fuss isn’t about “someone got a job,” it’s about a ravenous wolf who, in accordance with Scriptural mandates, has repeatedly confirmed himself unworthy of teaching God’s children getting hired by a clueless organization masquerading as a church.
Transformation Church is a worldly joke.

  2. What depths of wisdom can Reverend Lentz offer us now because he has been through so much. Like drinking lukewarm water.

  3. Restoration following repentance is wonderful thing. But the position of pastor (or whatever you want to call the made- up role for Lentz is) is an honor and reserved for those that are qualified. He has disqualified himself from ever serving as a deacon again (1 Tim 3).

I pray for the congregation that sits under the teaching of Michael Todd and the rest of the pretenders of Transformation ‘Church’
