Arkansas Republicans Approve Bill Criminalizing Drag Shows

Republicans in the Arkansas state senate have approved a bill criminalizing drag shows, passing the measure 29-6 along party lines. It now heads to the House for further review.

If passed, Senate Bill 43 would be one of the first bills of its kind. Inspired by the filth and indecency that is “family-friendly drag shows,” it was introduced by  Sen. Gary Stubblefield and would classify drag shows like strip clubs or other adult-oriented businesses, imposing the same restrictions these other businesses must contend with, such as being prohibited from being within 1000 feet or schools or parks.

It would ban them from public property and being performed in front of any minors.

If it passes the House, it is unclear whether or not newly minted Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders would support or veto the bill.

  1. If it’s a choice between theocracy (Christianity) and free speech (democracy) then I choose drag queens all day.

    1. Mores the pity. You can have them provided they’re zoned off into skid row. And when did the left ever give you a choice anyway?

    2. Sorry, but grownups sexualizing children nullifies your “free speech” (as if sexual performances by debased men in women’s clothes have anything to do with “speech.”
Mentally ill, deviant individuals are welcome to pander to their own, but not to innocent children.

  2. If a bill like this passed out of the AR legislature, Gov Sarah Huckabee would certainly sign it. This is the continuing start of the campaign to protect the children from the degeneracy that descended into the schools via the teacher’s unions. She is such a refreshing change from what the quisling Hutchinson was.
