Video: Pastor Arrested After Being Caught Beating, Whipping his Congregants in Church

(Howwebiz) Police in Hoima District have arrested a self-proclaimed man of ‘God’ for flogging his followers during a live church service.

The self-proclaimed prophet identified as Denis Kintu of empowerment City Church was captured live, during a Wednesday live streamed service whipping his choir members and ushers with a long wooden stick.

In the video that has since gone viral, Kintu grabs a long stick and commands his flock to either receive whips or exit his church. One by one, he lines them up and flogs while claiming his stick chases out demons.

Kintu says he will not tolerate a church with leaders or a flock full of demons.

“All of you come fast, I told you I am from the Army, you will not take me backward, these demons must be released by my stick. And anyone who doesn’t receive my cane, don’t come back to my church, don’t hold my microphone,” Kintu says as he hand picks the mostly female flock to receive his whip.

He claimed the miracle stick would unravel miracles, signs, and wonders in the lives of his followers.

Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson Julius Hakiza says the self-styled prophet has since been arrested at the Hoima Police Post and charged with assault.

  3. A gallery of the faithful gathering for church, album 6. If I were there that pastor would find his bamboo stick placed somewhere else.

  4. I may not agree with their beliefs, and there may be more to it than is evident in the video snippet here, but in the video I just watched, he did not hand-pick anyone, he did not line anyone up, and he did not strike anyone against their will.

    1. So beating some one if they DON’T tell you not to do it makes it okay ? This guy is clearly a heretic aggressive tendencies. I don’t recall anyone having demons cast out with a stick in the Bible. I most have missed it

      1. You didn’t watch the video. It was not an opt-out situation. He asked the congregation to come forward, and those who did went up front, as he stood in place, one by one voluntarily stepping up.

I did not speak to his heresy or whether or not demons can be cast out with a stick, or whether or not he has psychological issues. I pointed out certain falsehoods in the article above. There is no excuse for making false claims. I’d expect that sort of hysterical, deceitful overreaction from the likes of Julie Roys, but not from Protestia.

And I mean this criticism as constructively as possible. I much appreciate the ministry and all involved, but I’m calling it like I see it.

      2. False accusation is a serious sin. There are no exceptions in scripture. It’s never ok. The accused could be a serial killer, but if you falsely accuse him of jaywalking when he didn’t jaywalk, you are guilty of falsely accusing before God. And you also destroy your own legitimacy and witness. I’m trying to help Protestia here, the staff writer in particular, as kindly as possible.

The Bible says to judge fairly and rightly. The pastor is guilty of what he’s guilty of, and he’s not guilty of what he’s not guilty of. And as far as secular law goes, in most US jurisdictions consent is a strong, if not complete, defense. Additionally the government has no business meddling in the affairs of the church, which is an even more important issue in play. But in most US jurisdictions, he would not be guilty of assault.

      3. And there is definitely nothing in scripture that says it’s ok to judge others based on their perceived tendencies. That is partiality. It’s preemptively judging without commission of a sin, which is itself a form of false witness. Only God knows the heart. One could seem to be the most aggressive person who ever lived, if he didn’t commit the sin, he didn’t commit the sin.

      4. Additionally, the heresy in question is not whether or not the rod can drive out demons. The root heresy is the false notion that a born again Christian, indwelled by the Holy Spirit, can be possessed. A born again Christian cannot be possessed. We can be influenced by demonic forces, if we allow it. But not possessed. Where the Holy Spirit dwells, no demon can enter.

  5. My friend for sure knowledgeable true pine State regarding this pleasant technique of freelancing.(Cv.160) I’ve surely tried it associate degreed n6 presently i’m getting paid 26000usd monthly on the equal time as no longer defrayal an excessive quantity of time.
