Like Greear, New SBC President Ed Litton Says the Bible “Whispers” About Homosexuality
(Reformation Charlotte) There must be a conspiracy in the Southern Baptist Convention to elect presidents who hate the Word of God and deny its power. Following in the footsteps of former Southern Baptist president, JD Greear, the newly elected president, Ed Litton–whose church website denied the Trinity as recently as last week–makes the exact same mistake with nearly identical wording–which was taken, according to Greear, from Village Church lady-preacher, Jen Wilkin (who also says that women’s periods are a parable of the crucifixion)–that the Bible only “whispers” about homosexuality while it “shouts” about other sins.
Homosexuality is the only sin in Scripture in which two cities were wiped off the face of the earth for not only committing, but celebrating. The notion that God does not…

Bonus of JD Greear saying stupid things:
What an awful preacher. He shouldn’t be in any pulpit, let alone leading the SBC.
Just a whisper?
100% of the verses addressing homosexual behavior denounce it as sin in the strongest possible terms.
100% of the verses referencing God’s ideal for marriage involve one man and one woman.
100% of the verses referencing parenting involve moms and dads with unique roles (or at least a set of male and female parents guiding the children).
0% of 31,173 Bible verses refer to homosexual behavior in a positive or even benign way or even hint at the acceptability of homosexual unions.
It’s denounced as among the worst of sins, when even the least of sins would still be enough to send a person to hell (or, for a child of God, to send Christ to the Cross).
Anyone who does not hate sin does not love GOd.
The ear splitting “KABOOM!” when Sodom and Gamorrah where incinerated followed by the eternal wheeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth settles that idiotic interpretation .
It’s past time that people just wash their hands and finally admit that the Southern Baptist Convention (the leadership of which has been as far from Baptist as you can possibly get for, what, a decade or more?) is too far gone and cannot be saved. It’s a vampire and y’all need to run a stake into its heart and dropkick it into the sunlight.
No one who is truly washed in His precious blood and born again could possibly accept, endorse, and promote things like Wokeness, critical race theory, women pastors and women preachers, and anything other than a biblical view on the vile insanity and deviancy known as sodomy. I’m sorry, but I simply do not believe that the Holy Spirit would allow someone to fall into such ridiculously-obvious heresy and blasphemy.
Every conservative, God-fearing, God-honoring church that is part of the SBC should just split off and create a new convention for itself, if such a thing is really all that important, and let the alt-left liberals in control cannibalize one another. Stop fighting on behalf of something that will not fight for you.
