A Gallery Of The Faithful Gathering For Church Amid Pandemic – Album Thirty Four

The thirty-fourth album in an ongoing series documenting faithful churches gathering for Sunday service in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. With some churches still not gathering in-person in these dark times, others being persecuted by the government for being open, and others ending services for the rest of the year, these are the congregations who are meeting faithfully at the command of Scripture (Heb. 10:25).

These churches are preaching outside, or are back in their buildings having in-person services. Some with masks. Some without masks.

All are being safe. All are being obedient to the scriptures. All are loving their neighbors.

  1. If these are the faithful gatherings, why are there so many empty chairs? Are the missing people (through no fault of their own) considered the unfaithful?

    1. They are streaming service at home (elderly, also those with auto immune diseases). We have been doing that while church is closed in my area. The churches that are closed mostly are larger ones. Some smaller ones streaming, if no streaming is set up, then they are directed to another church in same denomination.

  2. Laura,

Yes our Church in Australia has been doing the same for many months. I have no problem with that as it’s the Church leadership’s decision to function that way, and like it or not I can’t change it.

It’s just that the title of this photo gallery series is offensive to me. It seems to make an ungracious and unnecessary divide between those meeting in person (the faithful) and the rest. I find that disturbing. There are churches, such as Grace Community Church which really could be described as faithful, because they are fully open and fully populated.
