Pastor Urges Christians to Shield Children By Purging Public Libraries of LGBTQ+ Propaganda During Pride Month
June is the month when folks who are given over to sexual deviancy and gender confusion publicly display their disdain for the design of creation and the God who gave them life. Ironically, they have coopted the rainbow, a symbol of the Noahic covenant given by God after he destroyed the world with a flood in an act of global judgment. The state of the unregenerate hearts of men before the flood is not dissimilar to what we see in Pride celebrations this very month. Solomon described this cycle in Ecclesiastes 1:8-9:
What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done, and there is nothing new under the sun. Is there a thing of which it is said, “See, this is new”? It has been already in the ages before us.
Pastoral responses to Pride month vary from church to church. While many pastors effectively convey a Biblically faithful message on sexuality to their congregants (orthodoxy), they often struggle to convey how to practically live out their faith and oppose evil in the public square (orthopraxy).
One Kansas pastor is challenging believers to live out their faith in the public square by removing LGBTQ+ propaganda from public libraries.
In a social media post shared via multiple outlets, Pastor Kyle Lammott of Exodus Church in Wichita, Kansas, urged Christian men to gather together at their local libraries and check out all of the LGBTQ+ books, beginning with the children’s section, to “love and serve” the community during pride month.
Pastor Lammott’s efforts in his community led to the removal of more than 100 LGBTQ+ titles from the shelves and Pride month display of a local library, effectively emptying the library of LGBTQ+ propaganda for the month of June. While the efforts were successful, local library officials promised to purchase more LGBTQ+ materials “to meet demand.”
Some may find pastor Lammott’s strategy counterintuitive, as many libraries may enlarge their collections of LGBTQ+ materials. However, the movement to purge libraries of propaganda would be quite effective if Christians rose up in a coordinated effort by checking out all of the LGBTQ+ books, placing holds on books that are checked out, and maximizing the lending limits of their library cards to gridlock the system.
Many public libraries have lending limits of 50 books per patron, meaning that a dedicated group of 20 Christian men could indefinitely gridlock a thousand book collections, an act that would shield hundreds of children and adolescents from LGBTQ+ propaganda that advocates for sexual deviancy and gender confusion.
