Mandisa ‘Did Not Harm Herself…She Loved The Lord’ says Father During Celebration of Life Service

As questions linger around the cause of death of Christian singer and American Idol alum Mandisa, who unexpectedly passed away earlier in the month and whose cause of death has not been revealed, her father shared some insights into her passing during her Celebration of Life service.

In the middle of the service, which features preaching, worship, and a message by Beth Moore, he shared that he spoke to the detective twice about what happened to his daughter and that the detective “he did not disagree” with his assessment, even as he cautioned that the official cause would not be revealed for several weeks.

“But here’s what I think happened; Mandisa fell down in her bedroom. They found her on the floor. If you look from the rear of her bed, she was laying on the left side. It’s clear that’s where she was laying, there was a couple of big rugs there and some clothes. And on the right side of the bed, front, was this nightstand, and I found her phone on the right side of the bed. There was no way for Mandisa to get around the bed, and go out there and get her phone to call for help.

“She did not harm herself. As she said, Mandisa loved the Lord and the Lord loved Mandisa. So there’s one thing you may not have known. She told me some time ago that she had gotten COVID-19 and she had been weak trying to get over that, but she was trying to press through.
